Why does people think those shirts are about the NCAA. Penny started the season saying we are still the hunters and we have the bulls eye on us. The coaches then votes us and Houston at the top of the league and they only voted James on the 1st team. I see this as motivation instead of a NCAA ploy.

This is a ringing endorsement that cannot be understated. Recruiting won’t take a hit. It will be amplified.

This is going to be bigger than James Wiseman and Memphis.

Maybe, maybe not. Whatever its original intent possibly was no longer matters because it is now about the NCAA targeting Memphis and Wiseman and Penny and Memphis responding with a big middle finger. That is how the entire country and media will see the shirts.

Yep. The timing obviously screams that it's an anti-NCAA message. I'm not sure whether I like the idea of the shirts or not; but, from day one, Penny has invited all the smoke, so in that respect I'm 100% in support of what he's comfortable doing for/with the team.

They could use it to pay off moving expenses and any legal fees that they might incur. They might have to put a picture of Wiseman on the target so he can make money off his likeness.

Careful with that. Next thing you know, anyone who bought a shirt and may have ever contributed to Memphis will be labeled a booster, then the NCAA will have to investigate every single person who bought one. They'll have their entire office working overtime looking for some way to spin it against the Tigers.

RE: Might as well wear it proudly
Before all this eligibility stuff started happening, I gave this team an extremely outside chance at making the Elite Eight or Final Four (given the youth factor), but now I think that these young men will rally around each other like few teams have ever done.

We are gonna lose a few during the regular season, but if JW plays the whole way (or even has to sit out a few regular season games as part of a quick settlement), I think it's highly likely these young men will be playing the 3rd weekend of the tournament.

Go Tigers and F the NCAA! 04-cheers

I hope so, I already have my Final Four and Championship game ticket...
