There are five bowls with CUSA ties. There are currently 6 bowl eligible teams. It is conceivable that UAB is left out of a bowl game regardless of how we finish. We’ve already lost to Southern Miss. very real possibility of losing to La Tech and a loss to Western Kensucky. I can see where we get left out.

It's going to be a struggle to get to 78 6+ win teams this season. Realistically there will be only 75 or 76 if Missouri remains on bowl probation. The NCAA will grant a waiver to Liberty bringing the total to 76 or 77. In that cast the 5 win team(s) with the highest APR get the last slots. All eligible 6+ win teams have to be slotted before that can occur. There is very little chance UAB misses a bowl.

Also, bowl "tie-ins" with ESPN owned bowls are just words on paper. ESPN is free to rearrange those in any way the deem desirable.

A 7th win will do wonders.

Quote: Bowl games that have a contract with a conference must select a team with at least seven wins if one is available before a six win team.

Any bowl berths that become eligible when a conference fails to meet its contracted tie-ins must first be filled by any eligible seven-win teams before any remaining FBS 6–6 teams can be accommodated.

to be honest if they get 7, 8, or 6 I hope they go to a bowl. If i can make it, fine. If not, it just means more playing time and more chance to put our name out there. As far as rewarding them, I'm not the one putting my body on the line for entertainment. If these guys get a chance to play one more game and reap some reward for their work, so be it.

You're overlooking the fact that SEC has 10 tie-ins plus a CFP entry, and likely only 8 or 9 eligible teams; the ACC has 10 plus a CFP entry, and likely only have 8 or 9 eligible. CUSA will put more than 5 teams in bowls because someone has to fill the slots SEC and ACC can't fill.
