Then they forfeit. Which would be stupid.

Then they forfeit the game. Don't know if a forfeited win can be vacated, but where there's a will, there's a way.

But wouldn't that make the NCAA happy? Or would that be a positive for us?

NCAA wouldn’t want that to happen. It would be a nightmare for them

They'll play. If Wiseman is found ineligible, it wouldn't hurt Oregon's record.

Basically, if they play and win, it counts. If the play and lose and Wiseman is ultimately ineligble, it doesnt count.

If they dont play, they lose, and it counts no matter what because Wiseman didnt technically play in the game so it wouldnt matter how he is ultimately ruled.

Then the team gets back to MEM 12 hours earlier and without the exertion of a game, which allows for more jet lag mitigation, and more preparation time for Alcorn State on Saturday. And with a 3-0 record.

So Oregon plays the first few seconds that Wiseman is in the game and then they quit and go to the locker room saying we are using an ineligible player? This can get interesting.

RE: What if Oregon refuses to play us tomorrow night?
Oregon would be crazy to do that...

If Wiseman is not eligible they don't lose (I don't think they get the win).

If Wiseman is found eligible and they don't play they forfeit.

If they play at least they have a chance to get the win.

If it was certain that Wiseman was not eligible then we may have to deal with this if we continue to play him.

RE: What if Oregon refuses to play us tomorrow night?
Or....we don't play Wiseman at first and see if we can beat Oregon with just the other players but.....if it appears that is not working....then we put in Wiseman and then......the Oregon team quits and goes to the locker room because we are playing a supposed ineligible player? That would look like they were scared to play us with Wiseman in the lineup.

This would be moot because no players would have played. So on what basis would they vacate the forfeited game when Wiseman didn't play in it?

Then Penny takes the mike at center court and asks why any recruit would ever want to come to Oregon. Chandler Lawson then begins to weep.

RE: What if Oregon refuses to play us tomorrow night?
UIC played

They would forfeit 1-0

A different issue than whether the NCAA will later vacate the win for Memphis, forfeit or not

I think we end up okay in all of this, as long as folks realize that playing him COULD have tremendously consequential results moving forward, especially if there was new evidence

That would be a great move on their part for so many reasons.

1. Make Nike, who scheduled the game, very happy, the ultimate sign of respect

2. Forfeit a game when Wiseman will almost for sure eventually be declared eligible

3. Make ESPN happy

4. Make their fans happy

So yes, I guess it's possible.
