A month or two ago, I would say there is no chance in hell that Skip would out coach anyone in the nation. Something just clicked with him during the UMass game and he has been calling a very aggressive and a lot less predictable plays.

We have very good offensive weapons in RB Henderson and WR group (Slayton, Hardy, Hebert, Graham, Powell). J'mar may be the weakest point on the offense and he is much better this year.

Our strength will be on our defense with the amazing Amik Robertson - you will hear his name calling on Sunday game next year.
This is the first year that our defense stays true to the meaning of bend but won't break. We should be top 5 in the nation in red zone defense.
Our lone lost was against Texas - it was the first game with the new DC. He dialed up play much better than the previous DC that we lost to Miami.

Hopefully not quite yet. Year after. There is certainly a chance he leaves this year though.

Should be a good game against Marshall. I have been expecting a loss here, but can't help but get excited at the thought of a potential win. Biggest game of the year.

Interesting. So, Marshall has only average 22.5 points per game all season in 8 games against FBS competition. Yet, you think Marshall will score 35 pts against LA Tech's defense, which is ranked #40 nationally in scoring defense, and surrendering only 22.9 pts per game?

Ok.

I'm expecting a tossup game, with the final score in the high 20's on both sides. I can't see either of these defenses giving up 35 points.

It's why the game is played.. We can only speculate scores.. But those things you're putting up are averages... Your defense let Southern Miss score 30.. So someone else scoring 35 isn't out of the realm of possibility...

Relax Francis it's called a discussion.

it is a great situation that we are in at the moment - keep winning and the next game will always be the biggest game of the year.
We haven't really been in this situation since 2012 when we have a shot for the new year 6. This is the shot that Tech needs to revitalize the fan base.

Exactly my point. Isn't USM's offense much better than Marshall's? Without looking it up, I highly suspect so. And USM only managed to score 30 on Tech.

From what I've read, Marshall's strength is their defense, right? So I expect a lower scoring game based on the strengths of BOTH defenses.

Well when you consider that 7 came off of our very special special teams unit, we gave up 23 to USM. Which is basically that average.

Marshall may have a 14-10 lead with 8 minutes left.

...I'm thinking a 27-23 type final score. And truly I think the game is a tossup. Which is an improvement for us, because I've had this game ear marked as a loss for LA Tech since last summer. But based up Tech's recent play, I've moved it to a tossup game now.

TBH.. I've only watched one Marshall one game this year and that was against Boise and I really don't recall how good the offense was.

I just think Marshall players get REALLY amped up for this game (not to mention, their division is on the line) and they feed of their crowd and play lights out.

Hope you are correct. Tech is playing the best of anyone in the league. We can’t match them score for score though.

Ya know, the Ghost of CLT brings up a great point. Marshall and their fans should be looking ahead to the Herd's very tough road game on Nov 23rd at Charlotte. Can Marshall beat Charlotte this year? I know the 49ers have improved greatly.

We need to hear more about Marshall's upcoming showdown AT CHARLOTTE! 03-wink

Actually, it very well could be a trap game of sorts if we manage to send you home from Huntington with a loss. After such a huge emotional game, I wouldn’t be shocked by a letdown of sorts.

Right now, no precipitation in the forecast for Friday, but if it were it would likely be snow. It's gonna be a cold one.

I am going to enjoy watching this game, relaxed with a neat shot of good Ukrainian vodka and a plate of freshly delivered stuffed cabbage under sweet and sour sauce, while the Owls are dominating the Fighting Byes.

Looking to be around 30 at kickoff and dropping from there to the mid 20s during the game.

This is the "75" game for us where we honor the crash victims annually by wearing the 75 sticker on the helmet instead of the M. We are 6-0 in those games since we started that tradition.

Well if it was after the Southern Miss, I would agree. But the NT game was basically over when Fine went down at the end of second half, Tech starters rested all of the 4th qt
