The ILLINI are going bowling!!!
Hit the 6-win mark with a 37-34 upset of Michigan State!

Illinois has won four in row, including wins over Wisconsin and Sparty!

Oh for those two close early losses...

Fighting Lovie’s are this year’s Cinderella. A month ago, nearly everyone thought it’d be a lock he’d be fired. Midseason miracle.

I agree. I thought Lovie was toast too, but they've been a second half team for 4 of their last 5 contests (won against MSU, Rutgers, Wisconsin; got to within 3 against Michigan after being down by 28 before losing 42-25). And it slays me when I watch them play. Their defense looks shambolic sometimes and their offense at times would have trouble with a high school JV team's defense. However, I haven't watched Illinois play in a month. I cut the cord on my cable company last month, so I've been TV-free since then, but I'm weighing options for the future. I'll be back to my old viewing self in time for March Madness.

...is Lovie still rocking the beard? If so, perhaps its 'mojo' has finally taken effect... congrats to the Illini! 04-rock04-rock04-rock

Good for them! Lovie's too good of a coach to go out a loser. I knew they'd turn it around at some point.

Lovie deserves major consideration for coach of the year, although another fellow B1G coach might end up earning it (Fleck). Hope he remains at Illinois for years to come.

Good for them. They haven't been bowling since 2014. Maybe Santa "Lovie" Claus will get the school a bowl victory for Christmas. You have to love that beard verses the straight lace look he had in the NFL. 02-13-banana COGS 01-donnankungfu 07-coffee3
