LSU been the better team but it's only 16-13 LSU with 6:43 to go 2nd.

Big possession here before halftime. LSU up 19-13 and they get ball to start the 2nd half. Alabama needs a defensive stop or the next time Tua takes a snap it could be 33-13.

Horrible announcers. There was nothing unclear. LSU player stepped out. Got his toe in before catching the ball. Caught the ball while dragging his toes in bounds. The ONLY question was how does the going out of bounds rule apply. Since they didn't throw a flag don't know if it was reviewable. And even if it was, the Alabama player was pushing the LSU player in the chest before he stepped out. But the announcers questioned whether he got his toe in, whether he touched it before he got the foot in and whether he got the toes down while catching.

Saw an earlier one on FS1where the LA review "expert" questioned whether the TCU player stepped out of bounds and thought the ruling of TD shouldn't be overruled. At the 6, he looked like he stepped out of bounds, but I could see saying the TD stands. But he clearly stepped out on the 3 on his next step. It was perfectly clear.

They talk about blind umpires-how about blind announcers.

If LSU relaxes even a little bit or thinks this over in the locker room, Alabama will rally and win.

The things that have stood out to me so far are these:
1. Going back through last year Alabama has lost its defensive edge.
2. The penalties are an indication that Saban is losing his focus on fundamentals, or is trusting too much of his stuff to the staff.
3. The Alabama secondary isn't as well schooled on coverage techniques as they have been in the past.
4. I'd say Saban is entering his final couple of years. He's too perfectionistic to stay if he can't get control of things again.

All of that said, L.S.U. looks pretty damned good!

The LSU running back got the first down, terrible spot.

So think we are gonna have a year where a big difference between 1 and 2

1 gets Oregon or Oklahoma or Utah
2 gets Clemson

Saban lost control about 3 years ago. Alabama is perhaps the dirtiest team in college football. His teams didn't used to be that way.
