Two very evenly matched teams. WKU probably needed this more being the lower ranked team. This way both teams should remain in the top 25. Not so sure would have remained had they lost. Good match Rice. Your team is no fluke.

WKU moves to 26-1 on the season and 3-0 in five set matches. If we win our last two
regular season matches at home against Louisiana Tech and UAB, and win the C-USA Tournament, we will have a great chance to host the First and Second Rounds of the NCAA Tournament.

The Top 16 seeds in the NCAA Tournament get to host the First and Second Rounds on their campus.

Our current RPI I think is #27. Not sure we would have a chance for that. Don't trust the NCAA for good reason. Well see how much we move up in to the RPI this week.

Even at 31-1, NCAA would do us no favors...However just based on how much success we have had last decade we deserve to host for once...What a weekend for WKU sports, this will be a tough one to duplicate!

Great match. Great atmosphere too (at least 1500 people in the stands I'd say). We played a men's basketball game afterwards, and there were way fewer people for that than the volleyball match.

I look forward to a potential rematch in the finals of the conference tournament in two weeks. Both teams are easily in the NCAA tournament. This might have cost Rice a chance to host a regional - I do know that both Texas and Baylor don't want Rice at their regionals.

WKU moves up 3 spots to #19 in this week's poll. Rice drops 4 spots to #21 after the loss. But both teams are still in the top 25.

Ncaa hates giving smaller schools credit.

WKU wins cusa championship outright gong 14-0 after today's win over UAB 3-0. About 2,000 in attendance for Final regular season finale. Final regular season ranking due out Monday. CUSA tournament begins next week. Expecting WKU and Rice in the finals barring a huge upset. Both teams ranked.

Agree, no one that I’ve seen in conference has really threatened to come close to these two.

WTF!!! Rice wins last two matches and moves from #21 to #14 in the rankings and WKU sweeps last two matches and falls from #19 to #21. Hope the hell do they come. Up with that idiotic logic. Totally stupid reasoning.

You're mixing the RPI ratings and the coaches poll (which has been a joke for much of the season). Rice was 15 in the RPI a week ago I think (?) so we only moved up 1 spot. I wouldn't know what WKU was in the RPI a week ago, but I bet you it was close to 21. WKU really didn't play a very impressive non-conference schedule (remember Rice is one of only two teams to have beaten #1 Texas, along with Stanford).

The coaches poll comes out at 1 pm today. I'd expect WKU to remain ahead of Rice there (they were 19 and 21 there last week). Possibly Rice moves up a spot to 20 since California went 0-2 and was swept in both matches last week.

Thank u. I believe u are correct. I was wondering at the time why the ranking had come out so early. Thought I was looking at the coaches pole. Thought it was another case of dissing the "smaller" school again. I believe our rpi was mid 20's last week. That makes sense. If we meet again both teams will b amped. We had an attendance of about 2,000 for our last home match. Just saying.
