The only thing I'm surprised about is that the results of these games now have a chance of standing in 5 years.

Him being coach is actually irrelevant to that I think. They are saying he was a booster for Memphis at the time he paid for it. That's illegal by itself

but i dont know how the ncaa thought this was a good idea..in the middle of pay for play fbi crises...the cali pay athletes situation..

to then rule wiseman ineligible for penny helping his family when he was 7 years old is crazy...that is a self-imploding decision

The drones of Memphis fans making this place insufferable for the last 2 years, the proclamations that Penny is the best ever, etc.

If a lot of the Memphis fans weren't so douchey, I would definitely have a lot more sympathy.

Sure it sucks for the conference and for Wiseman personally, but man some of these clowns have been asking for it.

No, it wasn't in 2008...

yeah, more than likely in 2018.

penny was not even on the radar as a college coach

It seems some posters are drawing pleasure from this and taking veiled shots. This is bad for the conference. The more talent in the conference the better for the reputation. This is not good.

But he would qualify as a Memphis booster, even if he never became coach.

Or it was all part of the deal. Him getting the Memphis job had everything to do with him buying players in Memphis that would then follow him to the university. This math isn't hard. You aren't being picked on. This is EXACTLY what Memphis fans asked for when you all wanted to fire Tubby to hire Penny. You just thought you'd get the fun run in before it was vacated.

Gary Parrish has been talking about Penny as Memphis coach for quite a while. Certainly during Tubby's tenure which only ended in 2018, correct?

I am not happy. The NCAA selectively attacks certain big schools and lets others skate.

As if WE haven't had to suffer YOUR new-comer, "Okay, we've arrived, now the party can start!" attitudes since we threw you a rope to get out of your nowhere conference.

You want insufferable? Gimmie som-mowe...

That's what happens when you let teenagers into the liquor cabinet. They start thinking they are adults, but really, they are just obnoxious.

We've actually brought NCAA credits to this league in the last half-decade. So in actuality, we've kinda backed up what we talked.

Memphis on the other hand.. just wheelin' and dealin'. 07-coffee3
