One should be careful that Drink isn't being eyed. Although it will take 2 years for that to really happen. Right now he's riding coat tails. But it very well could happen with continued success. The coaching carousel is fickle. At this level, you are only one bad hire away from oblivion.

Dino Babers, Jeff Brohm, Mark Dantonio, and Pat Fitzgerald being on that list is just plain stupid.

Thinking about making some money for the advertising on his website, I'd guess.

Oh, and if you do know, please share.

We all know he's being eyed. Halfway grateful for the Southern loss cause it probably took some eyes off him. If we went undefeated this year he was likely gone after the championship. Now that he looks more human, I think we have him for another year. (Which is good, cause screw wasting next year's senior talent on a 3rd new HC in their career)

Napier is a worthy candidate for some job openings. Don't know if it will be Arkansas and he better think long and hard before he moves. Arkansas job is the last stop to unemployment. Unrealistic fanbase, difficult place to recruit, perpetual losing program in the SEC West.

Arkansas is in the same boat as programs like Kansas, Indiana, and Boston College. They can chant "SEC" but they can't compete.

Arkansas might have a hard time finding a coach to take over a program in that condition knowing they have to compete against Alabama, Auburn, LSU, and Texas A&M each year. I wonder if Napier’s recruiting ability would allow him to build that program?

No, they'll have no trouble in finding a new coach. They can afford to pay whatever they have to in order to have their pick of any G5 team in the nation, and probably half the P5 coaches out there.

Exactly. Most coaches are confident (arrogant?) enough to believe that they can turn things around. I remember the "woe is us" attitude at A-State when Roberts was about to be fired and all the "who would want to come here anyway?" talk. That was stupid, and applying that same attitude towards an SEC school is even dumber.

They're due for a good hire. Their AD can't do much worse at this point. The biggest problem is the money boosters are going to want a say after dumping about 20 million into coaching in the last 5 years. I don't envy him his job.

But it’s was the “who else can we get” attitude that made Gus like $80mil at Auburn because they were afraid he would go to Arkansas and they didn’t have anyone to replace him.
