For a bit more context, one of the games "League of Legends" world finals hit 100 million viewers. The world series draws 40 million. If you don't see the value on getting in on the action, I don't know what to tell you.

I play League but I'm nowhere near good enough to compete but I watch the competitive league every year. Its entertaining.

I don't mean to be so aggressive in my defense but I was born in 1990. I'm almost 30 but I grew up with video games, so it's just a really cool thing that ODU is catering to students that are really good at that stuff. I'm a gamer but I don't have time to play anything enough to be competitive. Lol

Don't some players develop followings they can then monetize? They put on head phones and kibbitz with fans all over the world.
I think some gamer has developed a following by giving away really hjigh value prizes like cars, cash, all kinds of stuff. Not sure how comes up with the money

Yeah you can stream on twitch or YouTube and makes tons of money. I follow so gamers and some definitely make millions of dollars. Its legit. for sure. I wish I was good enough to do it.
