From everything I’ve heard, I would expect him back for that game.

It’s kind of unbelievable to think about all the weapons we have and Patrick Taylor hasn’t even played much this season. Joey Magnifico, Antonio Gibson, Damonte Coxie, Kenny Gainwell. Plus Calvin Austin III and many other shot can go off on any night.

We're going to need Big Pat down the stretch. Everyone is going to be keying in on Kenny. SMU did a good job in this regard. I don't think they will be able to stop both Kenny and PT.

Too many offensive weapons for opposing defenses to deal with.

Something has been lacking in the past few games. In the 3 games prior to the SMU game, Gainwell has gotten almost no support from the other RBs. It will be nice to not see a drop off when Gainwell is off the field.

SMU stacked 8 in the box all night long to take away Gainwell, which is why Antonio Gibson and Demonte Coxie went off.

I heard some SMU chatter about how they would have beat us had they had Roberson healthy (their top receiver). Apparently they didn't realize we beat them without our top running back. Thank god for Gainwell and Gibson, but with Taylor our offense is truly among the best in the country.

The Tigers also don't have Pop Williams, another strong offensive talent.

Plus, they got 122 yards from a kid who had 100 total career yards coming into the game. He more than made up for Roberson.

And one of our top receivers in a Pop Williams

I don’t think Sean Dykes dressed either

SMU is pretty good, but was lucky not to have lost by three or more touchdowns

Taylor makes our offense better not by improving our running game...

He makes it better by allowing Gainwell to do more things.

Taylor will not have the same explosive plays as Gainwell but he will be more steady and can grind defenses down with consistent positive yards...Putting Gainwell in the slot also will give Taylor more space to make plays as well.

It sure does. Claybrook is getting beat. He is fast but he has not cover technique, he gets faked out easily on a double move. He can't back peddle good at all. receivers were blowing by him at the line of scrimmage. DB coach needs to give him some one on one time to keep him from getting his feet crossed. Back peddle quickly straight back and "open", when the receiver breaks to your left, push off on your right foot, if he breaks right, push on your left foot. then use your speed to catch up. For goodness sake "LOOK FOR THE BALL" play the ball and we get no Pass interference calls or at least less of them.

Nice...

People don't realize how much technique and footwork is required to properly play DB.

It aint all speed...The technique required to be able to backpedal quickly while staying low so you can easily react is very hard to master.

RE: Norvell hoping Patrick Taylor will be back for Houston game.
Our offense has been capable all year of overcoming poor showings by our defense. If we get Patrick Taylor back at full strength, that will be a huge help.

That being said, I'd love to see some blowouts these next few games.
