EA Sports NCAA Games 2021 and Beyond
So with this changing tide of allowing athletes to be paid for their likeness it's only a matter of time before we get NCAA video games back in our lives. So the point of this thread is what would you like to see come back? (FB is a given BBall not as certain and Baseball not likely but i'd love to see that again) What changes to the games would you like to see?

I would love to see the ability to edit conferences more. Let us edit the names and structure of the leagues with the ability to add up to 20 teams or break the conferences into more than 2 divisions. As well as being able to create new conferences and not be stuck working within the current # of conferences. I'd also like an easier way to create new teams and add them into the mix. The last thing i'd want is the ability to expand the playoff to as big as I like or at the least expand it to double digit teams.

Lets hear what you guys want to see moving forward!

Even more customization of the names, images, and perhaps even likenesses of the conferences and schools!

I agree with all of those.

I'd also add in some ability to customize schools. Upload your own soundtrack and have that be played during games. They've always had South Carolina running out to the wrong music and it always bothered me.

I definitely hope we get a basketball game back at some point too. Would love to see that. Baseball seems like a long shot, not sure the interest is there.

RE: EA Sports NCAA Games 2021 and Beyond
With all of the advancements in Madden's franchise mode, I think it would be cool to be able to expand dynasty mode to include capabilities like building practice facilities and new stadiums, as well as providing revenue back to the school to improve on-campus life and academics. The customization of conferences, IMO, is a must. The latter versions of NCAA Football did this, but it would be cool to have not just the head coaches in the game, but also the OCs, DCs and STs as well (in event you would like to hire one as a head coach). Some type of dual dynasty mode would be cool, where you have the option to select one coach to oversee, or instead, a program (so you can fire the HC, or if HC gets big offers to go somewhere else). Maybe a Create-A-Bowl option? I did enjoy the option to download new uniforms.

Another must is having the option of downloading draft classes into Madden. That was always very entertaining. Still have great memories of Colt Brennan always being drafted first in my Madden, where he would always be an incoming 85 overall haha.

I forgot which sports game it was growing up (I want to say it was an All Star Baseball game), there was mode where you played a historic big game, but instead of playing as the winner of the contest, you would play as the losing team and attempt to change the outcome. That could be a cool mode too (i.e. maybe take USC's defense in the Rose Bowl against Texas' last drive and try and stop Vince Young).

I think realistically we won't see a NCAA Football 21. Just too much to do to get it ready by July 2020. Maybe NCAA Football 22 or 23.

I still think it's funny when the NCAA announced the NIL thing- within hours EA Sports and NCAA Football 21 was trending....

I don't think we'll see EA College Football return anytime soon if it even return at all.

If the NCAA will agree to a way to pay players for their likeness it will 100% happen. The demand would be through the roof, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if it breaks all of the video game release day records.

Although Steve is probably right, it would probably be NCAA 22 or 23 (released summer 2021 or 2022) at earliest.

Maybe some integration of the NCAA in FIFA and NHL dynasty modes.

There is no doubt about that. at all. If memory serves me right, NCAA used to sell almost as much as madden.

More customization - conferences (and # of), schools (colors, # of FBS programs, etc.), divisions (and # of), scheduling (so long as you have 12 games, allow for full customization), bowls (how many, qualification, tie-ins), playoffs (4-?), allow for promotion/relegation (right? anyone??)

More "unlockables" - especially in the realm of uniforms (classic, third-jerseys, and "special" like Virginia Tech's borrowed uniforms at Georgia Tech in 2007), classic teams (like 1944 and 1945 Army), defunct programs, etc.

Anything else?

RE: EA Sports NCAA Games 2021 and Beyond
If EA makes it following their current business practices, the game at the launch $60 price point will only include 20 or so teams and minimal features. Then there will be microtransactions to unlock the rest of the teams and other features. Also, you will probably need to buy a monthly online subscription to play the game at all.

Maybe someone other than EA could license with the NCAA for a game.

My son was looking forward to it. There's a demand. It will happen, but not immediately.

I don’t understand why they can’t just reverse the players color and change the numbers around and just release it. You can customize it if you want. After 4 years of dynasty, all the “real” players are gone anyway

Or just randomize it completely and not have it based off any current players and just have the players random just like during dynasty mode. Just have the teams that are currently good have better players at the moment. If someone wants to create the correct Clemson roster they will do so.

Exactly. You wouldn’t make Coastal Carolina randomly better than Clemson and so on. Pretty easy solution.

Agreed. I've never understood why another company didn't make a generic college football game like they did before NCAA '98 that was released in 1997. Allow players to customize teams' names, rosters, stadiums, jerseys, conferences etc... Just make sure there is no reference to the NCAA or the actual program. Call it "10 Yard Fight College Edition" or "Techmo College Bowl" or "Play Action College Football" or "American College Football" or revert back the 96 & 97 versions of "College Football USA". Teams would be named after their city/town: Tuscaloosa Elephants, Greenville Cats, Austin Steers, Atlanta Bees, Tallahassee Natives, Ann Arbor Skunk Bears, Madison Honey Badgers...

These guys have been trying to put something out for a while now.

As for changes or improvements, I'd like to see fans storming the field and tearing down the goal posts after a big win a la Bill Walsh's CF on the Sega Genesis. I'd like them to add an AD element where smaller programs have to build fan bases/ticket sales leading to stadium expansions and if you're having a bad year, attendance/revenue drops making it tougher to hire/fire coaches and impact recruiting. If all the licensing happens, I'd like to see ESPN's CGD be involved and make it apart of the game. Maybe have Corso putting on mascot heads before he's gone.

I definitely know it will be a demand. I just don't think it will be as simple to bring it back as others think it will be.

If they just released it with completely randomized rosters but with authentic stadiums, uniforms, announcers, music, etc. it would sell just fine.

I think that actually speaks to something the "we need a minor league" folks miss - no one actually cares that much about seeing future NFL players or the best athletes, they just want to support their favorite teams.

Hopefully someone besides EA does is, they have a very broad reputation for not being customer friendly. I refuse to buy anything EA.

So why don’t they secure the NCAA license and just have generic players?

I had a Madden game a few years back where the draft picks had a story line, like twin LB’s at Notre Dame or something. I feel like they can get creative instead of cancelling a game because they can’t put Tua and Lawrence in it.
