Wiseman is that good.
Gotta shoot 100x better...
It is easy to stop a big when the smalls cant shoot...
And Wiseman is going to have to show he can score 1-on-1 against good competition
With his length, quickness and footwork he will be able to score one on one consistently. I also expect our three point shooting to improve as the season goes on. We have a couple of players that should be high percentage three point shooters on open attempts and a few that can be scary good when they get hot. The wild cards will be guys like Baugh and DJ and how well they shoot from 3.
"I was really just trying to take it possession by possession and really just trying to trust teammates," Wiseman said after his massive performance. "Running the floor is one of my strengths, and when I did that, the floor opened up tremendously."
We have a legit 7-footer that can run the floor. This is like having a nuclear weapon in your arsenal. He is complemented by multiple players that are each a threat in their own right. We have all of the ingredients to literally dominate.

Anthony didn't play but 37 minutes
Also didn't play against South Carolina State. Played against a legit opponent.
Ball hog
It was like he thought he was the only one on his team during the McD All Star Game.

I haven't looked at Sportscenter in who knows how long, but I went back and looked at the one that night with Scott Van Pelt. Memphis got the third spot after KU/Duke and UK/MSU. They showed this after the game highlights. When looking at scoring debuts of ESPN #1 ranked high school players Wiseman was #2.

Exactly.
He is a good player, not great imo and no way is he better than JW.

We can shoot better - make no mistake. 4 of the misses were in the last ~6 minutes, when it was mop-up time and we had gotten away from the offense. Lester also had 3 made 3's wiped off the board in the 2nd half, for a bunny-hop travel.
The poor shooting was primarily Lester (the negated 3's hurt him; he'll have to work on the bunny-hop), and Tyler. We know Tyler - good an bad. He had an off night. But when he runs the O sets with starters on the court with him, there is no reason to expect his % won't improve. Those two guys were 1-10, and the rest of the team was 5-10.

I know but espn and the social media wonks don’t care about that even though Wisemans efficiency is better in 22 minutes. James could had went for close to 50 if Penny had kept him in but there was no need for that in a blowout
Yep, Wiseman is old news, errbody's now claiming Cole Anthony POY, no one else even close
Anthony
0.32 pts/min, 0.30 rebs/minute
37 minutes 34 pts, 12/24 37%, 6/11 3 pt att 55%, 4/5 ft 80%, 0 or, 11 dr, 11 ttl rebs, 5 a, 1 stl, 0 blk, 4 turns
Wiseman
0.50 pts/min, 0.50 rebs/minute
22 minutes 28 pts, 11/14 79%, 0/0 3 pt att n/a%, 6/7 ft 86%, 6 or, 5 dr, 11 ttl rebs, 1 a, 0 stl, 3 blk, 0 turns
I know, different game, different team, different opponent, blah, blah, blah, they said it, I'm just showing some stats.
Actually, it's 1.2 pts per minute. IJS

LOL, they love some Cole Anthony. Roy Williams is so brave playing a #263 Kenpom team that was 10-21 on the road this year.

Spot on. Combine the efficiency numbers with freakish athleticism, powerful frame and positive attitude (coachability) and JW will be the #1 pick in the draft.

I had those concerns until I saw this game. Notice the Wiseman highlights. In this highlight package it shows Wiseman scoring on a faceup move, a turnaround jumper that was impressive (at the 1:09 mark) in the half court setting. This doesn't include the running hook shot he scored on in the 1st half. James has gotten better since then. I'm more worried about him being in foul trouble.

Yep, lots of media attention, but I wouldn't say it's a huge plus for anyone.
