01-swc Here lies 2020 NCAA Tournament bid hopes. RIP.

After the OT win over North Carolina last month, the Hokies were 14-5 (5-3), and squarely on the bubble with a win over Michigan St. They now sit 15-12 (6-10), and barring a surprise will be playing on Tuesday in Greensboro. That's where everyone had them pegged pre-season, but few if any envisioned the overachieving first half of the year.

Man, really sucks. First couple minutes of massive ACC game in Tally and Malik Williams goes down with twisted ankle and appears to be out for the game. Williams has arguably been Louisville’s MVP the last month. 3rd string C out a few games with a shoulder injury so Cards basically have one [/quote]Center on the team for the final 38 minutes.

No, I'm pretty sure NC State, Duke and Clemson all lost.

Clemson upsets FSU in early Saturday action. Plenty of ACC games on today.

Clemson has now beaten Louisville, Duke and FSU at home and UNC on the road but are not on the bubble.

Oh, don't start winning NOW!

I think the very definition of "bad guys" is someone who can't achieve anything themselves but somehow manages to ruin it for others...

Crazy Ol' Roy just wanted to wait four months to surprise the foes with the true lineup.

UNC would be a scary draw in the ACCT. The talent is there (despite what Roy claims) and Greensboro is sorta home away from home.

On another note, are the refs confused on how to call a charge/blocking foul? I have not seen any consistency. Guess I’ll have to wait until the ACCT to (hopefully) see a good officiated game. There is something really off about how games are officiated today. I don’t remember this being a big issue in the early 90s when I started to closely follow college basketball. I use to enjoy watching good basketball games regardless of teams, win or lose now it’s just frustrating.

RE: Open Thread - 2019/20 MBB Season
Weird seeing ACC regular season men's games on a Friday night.

So much for Clemson getting momentum after beating Florida State last Saturday. I thought they had a chance at an at large but that went out the window after they lost at home to Georgia Tech. NC State won. Depending on tiebreaks, they'll be anywhere from the 6 seed to the 8 seed. Make the SF and they should make the NCAA Tournament, one and done and they should be out, QF and they'll be strictly on the bubble. Notre Dame has the NET ranking to sneak into the Big Dance, they'd need to beat one of the big boys though.
