Coaches on playoff

Survey with all P5 coaches but Saban, Orgeron and Kelly participating. 30-23 in favor of expanding playoff. Big 10 and Big 12 most in favor.

Another question was whether you understand how teams are chosen. Only 35-21 agreed.

Coaches benefit from expanding a playoff. It gives more coaches a chance to say that they succeeded this year.

And yet almost 40% of coaches oppose expanding the playoff.

I bet coaches have a bonus clause for making the playoff, like how they do for making a bowl game.

And if the playoff expands, the ones at the top 20 or so programs are more likely to get fired if they don't get into the playoff. Those people were generally opposed to expanding the playoff.
