Oh, there's no doubt in my mind that SMU was getting the Central Florida treatment.

What I can't understand is why Memphis didn't get the UCF treatment at Temple. If you watched the UGA-FL game, you saw a UGA player make almost the same catch as Magnifico did - except the video clearly showed UGA player letting the ball hit the ground. SEC refs called it a catch. If the AAC wanted undefeated teams, all they had to do was stick with the original call. All I can think is that the AAC has trouble attracting decent officials.

Yes Yes Yes. Someone knows football. If you look back and find the ball you are playing the ball and the ref can't call PI unless the receiver stops and even then you are both playing the ball and catch it with both hands, Mr Cornerback, Mr. Safety. TJ Carter was great at this, what happened to his technique? TJ Rushing is messing up our defensive backfield.
I still love the guys but the got to get that technique down. Those Idiot refs are looking for it and think they are justified in calling it.

This is exactly what I've been saying. We are making it too easy on the refs when we continually grab the receiver without looking back to locate the ball. They are going to call this every time.

From what I've seen, most of the time we are getting beat in bump and run and on hitch routes which causes our guys to have to cover too much ground to catch up to the receiver. Hall had what should have been an easy one as he was stride for stride with the receiver, but just simply waited to long to try to locate the ball. He still almost knocked it away. I hope this is a technique thing that can be corrected. You know they have to be seeing it on film.

Two reasons i can think of:

1.) The Temple refs were $EC refs. The conference has no "contract" with them, and thus, less of an ability to say "preserve our champion." AND

2,) "Upstart" Memphis is in the middle of $EC country making them look bad cause they beat ole mrs., and ut@knoxville and arkansas are both sucking out loud. $EC bias got us at Temple.

In summary:
$EC bias worked against us at Temple. Undefeated AAC bias got us in the previous years with UCF, and almost again with SMU. I 100% believe that there is pervasive and systemic undefeated AAC bias in our conference officiating.

I feel like everyone about the refs. But, it's up to our coach and the school to formally complain. The coach really can't do anything about it. And, I liked Memphis' reply to it the last couple of weeks, they are taking their destiny into their own hands. So, they made sure they still won against SMU, EVEN, if the refs are trying their best to prevent it.

So glad that someone else saw what I saw on that one pass play. The WR definitely stepped out of bounds on his way down the field.

It's not paranoia if they really are out to get you.

If it matters, I only 65.3% believe that the $EC refs were "out to get us."

But our conference has shown, over-and-over-again, their bias toward an undefeated champion - even at the (possible) expense of having multiple Top 25 programs. I think they are desperately trying to be the first conference to break into the playoffs, and they don't believe (rightfully so) they can do it with a 1 loss AAC team. What they are failing to see is that an undefeated non-P5 champion STILL has zero shot. It's time for logic to dictate a change in tactics, and go for the larger non-playoff bowl ca$h pool by having multiple Top 25 teams in the league playing in the post-season.
