"All the group of 5". LOL. You mean the AAC. (plus Boise, of course)

Honest question and quite possibly a very stupid question, lol.
When ESPN is showing schools sos and sor, are these their own generated numbers or are they using a different source? They place a lot of emphasis on these numbers.

I believe it's from ESPN's own FPI.

I've seen their silly FPI, if you want to laugh until your stomach hurts, look at their rem. sos. Click on it to place them ascending and enjoy the stupidity.
So they are feeding viewers information on teams based solely on their own views? You (ESPN) bought the rights to CFP and everything involved with it and are only telling viewers your very own data?
I understand the committee is using their own formula to get their rankings. My point is the people who are watching ESPN, the owner of rights, are being fed one Person's, company, corporation, etc...whatever you want to call it, their own personal views. Is this borderline conflict of interest?
Are they legally not able to use other's data? And only able to present their own?
It's interesting to me and to match things up with what they are telling us.

And just to make sure I'm not being a team and/or conference homer, here is an example.
#6 Kansas- Oklahoma State, Iowa State and Baylor.
#20 Auburn- Georgia, Samford and Alabama
#47 Penn State- Minnesota, Indiana, Ohio State and Rutgers.

Just to be clear, ESPN is telling us that UCLA has a tougher schedule than Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, Penn State etc...
They play Utah, USC and Cal.

well, in the Massey ratings, they are #9. so it's not like it's crazy. All the teams you mention have at least 1 putrid game- while UCLA doesn't.
Massey has Ohio St and Penn St as stronger than them but not Alabama or Georgia.... FPI dinging those 2 a bit harder for Rutgers(and for OSU Maryland as well).
It's definitely not crazy at all...

Agree to disagree.
And the #6 Kansas ranking I mentioned, Massey actually has them at #35.
Why doesn't ESPN ding Alabama for Western Carolina and Mississippi State?
They are saying in their FPI that Alabama's schedule is 35 spots tougher than Ohio State.
I got my question answered and now I know. Thanks for the info!

Alabama while yes they have WCU has LSU, Auburn, and Miss St who while hasn't had a good season is still #44 in the Massey Composite. Definitely a whole hell of a lot better than Maryland.

I agree. The only way an unbeaten P5 champ will miss the playoffs is to another unbeaten P5 champ, or an unbeaten Notre Dame, and as of now, there can only be four unbeaten P5 champs.
