No Nikola, foul trouble from the get go, 60 something percent from the line. Great ROAD win.

I thought our defense played good tonight. Left a couple wide open 3s but that's going to happen with a young team.

Still got to work on taking care of the ball, keeping the fouls low, and shooting FTs but great win to start the season!

As the game wound down, I thought we'd be on here talking about our "great effort" and how we are definitely improved. However, getting the "W" is a lot better. I am suddenly a lot more optimistic about this season. MoSt is as good as anyone the Belt. Maybe better.

Several numbers tell the tale.

We shot 2s and made them. They shot 3s and did not. Good defense.
We won the boards by 6.
Nowell had 8 assists against only 2 turnovers. That is huge.
Defense. Rebound. Take care of the ball. Good basketball.

One game is not a season, but this was a very good sign.

Monyyong had 7 boards.

Johnson had 6 rebounds in 21 minutes and two blocks. Picking right up where he left off last season. I think that kid is going to force DW to keep him on the floor.

Bankston missed his usual one shot for the game. But fouls may keep him off the floor if he doesn't get that fixed.

Got back to the hotel in Myrtle Beach from watching the Camels beat Coastal just in time to catch the last 1:30 on ESPN3. What a way for both of my team’s to open the season! Go Trojans and Roll Humps!

Bears were 13 point favorites against LR and preseason favorite in the Valley. Next up is Illinois State. I feel much more confident than expected.
