RE: Best Kickers in WMU history?
Saw Livingston play. Remember this was pre soccer style era. He would boot 50 yarders in practice with ease. Played for the Bengals. Bendix was a star kicker for Loy Norrix HS in Kazoo. He ended up at WMU with his best friend Dobbie Drake. Drake was a 5'6 225# 3rd string MLB who was tough as nails on the field. His dad was a coaching legend at Kalamazoo Central. Interesting thing about Bendix. I think his last scheduled game as a senior was a road trip to Texas Arlington. Doolittle didn't put him on travel squad in a surprise move. Never got the whole story. Bendix was also involved in the Fleck slander lawsuit most have forgot.

I'm still here, fastbuicks.

And that's blasphemy - I went to K-Central, not Norrix. Dob and I did go to Junior High-play football there (and at WMU) together.

The UTA incident was my first year. At that time you could only travel 44 players. Doo told me he was taking our other kicker because he had stronger leg for long FGs and KOs which was true.

I'm sure fact that I had tied Livingston's school record for FGs the week before-might break it vs. Arlington had nothing to do with it.

What years did you play? Pretty neat stuff.
