ESPN college football bowl projections after week 10
Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic
AT&T Stadium, Dallas
Dec. 28., noon, ESPN
Bonagura: Cincinnati vs. Oregon
Schlabach: Memphis vs. Baylor

Belk Bowl
Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte, North Carolina
Dec. 31, noon, ESPN
Bonagura: Memphis vs. Virginia Tech
Schlabach: Virginia Tech vs. Kentucky

I guess Bonagura expects a Memphis loss to Cincinnati.

Memphis vs. Baylor in the cotton would be a good draw
Memphis vs. Va tech, I'd love it but I don't think Coach Fuente would at tall

^ I can see that being a fun game to watch.

Yeah but to me it would still have to be Cincinnati in that game as well. I couldn't see Cincinnati being ranked high enough by the CFP committee to make the Cotton Bowl while not playing in the conference championship.

Access slot goes to the highest rated G5 champion. Don’t win the game, don’t go to the Cotton Bowl

Right that's my point. I can't see Cincinnati being the highest rated if they miss the conference championship.

You have to win your league to get the Access Bowl slot. Doesn't matter what you are rated if you don't win your league. It's for the highest rated of the g5 league champions. No non champs, and no independents are eligible for the spot.

Yes I understand that but forgot the key part. So my other posts were worded incorrectly. Memphistigerbb posted "or a loss in in the championship game". I was left to assume that meant Cincinnati got in with Bonagura's projection with Memphis losing in the championship. I should have said from the get go that Cincinnati would have to win the conference championship.

I guess Bonagura expects a Memphis loss to Cincinnati.

Winning out and playing a Baylor or Utah or SEC 3d team (Florida, Auburn, Georgia?) in the Cotton Bowl would be the best

But VT in Carolina would be a nice fall back

And yes, need to finish with a Bowl win. The last two years playing without our All American RB kind of sucked. Likely would have won them both but Bowls are different animals

yep and it still hasn't effected recruiting or playing in national TV games, so "Nobody cares anyway, they are just exhibition games"

Baylor would be a terrible matchup for us even if they are super overrated. Have yall forgotten the slog of a game that Rhule loves and we hate? Avoiding Temple-like teams would be nice.

Know we still should have won the last two bowl games, but we arguably didn't have our best player in those games.

It would help if Norvell didnt have to be interviewing and replacing his entire assistant staff during that time.

Don't be surprised if it happens again this year. Its becoming the new norm in CFB.

Nobody cares.
They are exhibition games.
We were without our playmakers.
We were without our coaching staffs.
The only one who remembers we are 1-4 is you. Recruits don't care. Pollsters don't care. Other fans don't care.

If the worst thing you can say about our program is that we don't win meaningless bowl games, I'm more than okay with that.

I'd like to win another bowl, sure, but ultimately it's a jerk-off.

I care when I spend thousands to attend and support the team.
If you don't win the bowl came they still call you the "loser"
