I'm betting 1-6 of the CFP Rankings will look like this:

1. LSU
2. Ohio St.
3. Alabama
4. Penn St.
5. Clemson
6. Georgia

I wouldn't even be surprised if Penn St. is #3 and Bama is #4 just based of SOS. But I don't think the committee will have the balls to do it. And don't be surprised if Oregon is #6 ahead of Georgia.

What say you posters?

Possible. The computers like Penn State, who has 3 wins over opponents that have at least 6 wins so far. Clemson and Alabama each have 1 win over a team with 6 or more wins (same opponent, Texas A&M). The committee's past rankings seem to have been influenced by computer ratings.

As long as the committee isn't using any of the stupid ESPN FPI numbers, I'm good.

I think Ohio State is going to be #1, so yes, I think you are right, LSU vs Alabama will not be #1 vs #2 in the rankings that count.

OSU might be #1 this week, but the winner of LSU/Alabama will be #1 guaranteed next week.

I would think LSU wins over Texas, Auburn and Florida will carry more weight than Ohio St wins over Cincy and Wisconsin. But we shall see.

That’s my personal rankings top 6 in that exact order. We got a couple matchups this weekend between undefeated schools: LSU @ Alabama & Penn St @ Minnesota. I’m also interested in Baylor @ TCU, Kansas St @ Texas, Wake Forest @ Virginia Tech, and Iowa @ Wisconsin. Those 4 games have CCG implications and berths to NY6 bowls on the line.

This ...

Ohio State hasn't played the schedule that LSU has. Neither has Alabama.

LSU should be the obvious #1.

I'd rank it this way:

1. LSU
2. Ohio State
3. Penn State
4. Alabama
5. Clemson
6. Oregon (Auburn is way better than South Carolina - Sorry Jawjaw)

That's pretty spot on. The Ducks have been improving - I think they beat Auburn if they played today.

Texas is 5-3. Is that a better win that 7-2 IU? Splitting hairs probably.

Texas has been ranked at some point during the season, IU hasn't. It really a no-brainer LSU will be ranked ahead of Ohio St. If you ask me who I think is the better team at the moment I would say Ohio St.

Prior rankings mean diddly. TCU was ranked at one point. 3-6 Syracuse was ranked this year Nebraska and Stanford were as well. Texas is barely receiving more votes currently than Indiana .

RE: #1 vs #2 this Saturday may not be the case after the 1st CFP Rankings are released!
CFP has focused on big wins. If anybody but LSU is ranked #1, it would be very out of character.
Tossup between Alabama and Ohio St. for #2. Clemson and Penn St. might be tossups for #4.
Georgia with win over Florida is definitely ahead of Oregon.
Don't be surprised if Florida and Auburn edge out Oregon, Oklahoma and Utah.
Could be:
1. LSU
2. Alabama
3. Ohio St.
4. Penn St.
5. Clemson
6. Georgia
7. Florida
8. Auburn
9. Oregon
10. Oklahoma
11. Baylor
12. Utah
13. Michigan
14. Notre Dame
15. Minnesota
16. Wisconsin
17. Memphis
18. Kansas St.
19. Iowa
20. Cincinnati
21. Wake Forest
22. Boise St.
23. Texas A&M
24. SMU
25. Texas

Alabama has beaten absolutely no one. Their best win is against Texas A&M. Ohio St and Penn St has beaten two current ranked teams. So if the committee value big wins, Bama has zero.

Georgia beat Florida but has a bad loss to S. Carolina. Oregon has no bad losses and some very good wins. Two loss Auburn and Florida will not be ranked ahead of Oregon.
