That's not a Big East thing, that's a college basketball thing. Majority of programs begin with cupcakes. If any of these games are within ten, it *should* be a problem.

SEC
Florida v. North Florida
Georgia v. Western Carolina
Tennessee v. UNC Asheville
Alabama v. Penn
Arkansas v. Rice
Mississippi State v. FIU
Auburn v. Georgia Southern

Big 12
Baylor v. Central Arkansas
Iowa State v. Mississippi Valley State
Texas v. Northern Colorado
Oklahoma v. UTSA
Kansas State v. North Dakota State
Texas Tech v. Eastern Illinois

B1G
Indiana v. Western Illinois
Michigan v. Appalachian State
Penn State v. Maryland Eastern Shore
Minnesota v. Cleveland State
Illinois v. Nicholls
Maryland v. Holy Cross
Nebraska v. UC-Riverside

PAC
Oregon v. Fresno State
California v. Pepperdine
Oregon State v. CSUN
USC v. Florida A&M

The big games are Kentucky/Michigan State, Kansas/Duke and Wisconsin St. Mary's.

So glad college basketball is finally here.

Frankly, given how young Nova is, I am thrilled they don't open against a major player. That said, wouldn't be surprised if these early season games are closer than they should be. A lot of growing up to do.

As a general spectator and fan of college basketball, that's awesome. If it were MY team though, I'd not be too happy unless we have a very experienced team.

will be interesting to see how the new rules impact things..

- longer 3 point line- now 22 2 instead of 20 9.
- shot clock resetting only to 20 seconds instead of 30 seconds on a missed shot

I really think it's going to be minimal. Stories I've read lead me to believe the only noticeable effect will be players going out of bounds w/ the extended 3 pt line. Shot percentages and game play with the 20 seconds won't change much.

Think you are right with the 3 point line....

The 20 second reset I think is bigger than you think.

Michigan 79
Appalachian State 71

SMU 74
Jacksonville State 65

Illinois 78
Nicholls 70

UIC 75
Olivet Nazareth 72

Agree with all these.

And how about from the SEC: MissSt beating FIU by only eight; Bama losing to Penn by one; and Auburn (ranked 24th) had a bit of tough time with GaSouthern before winning by nine.

RE: Tue 11/5 Game thread- the beginning
It was great seeing actually basketball being played last night. I was really only concerned with Seton Hall. With all the hype they're getting, I think the game was a little less impressive than expected. Although to be fair I only saw the first half before going into the arena for the Marquette game... and part of it might have been because I was watching the Duke/Kansas game on the tv next to it. Still, there is much for them to clean up there.

According to Kenpom?

Because Marquette played Loyola MD last night and only is rated lower in Kenpom b/c of the loss. So, if we go by yesterdays numbers, Mercer is second best. 03-cool
