FSU fires Taggart
The Seminoles let Willie Taggart go, along with a $17M buyout. This would be a great hire for a lowly, struggling Sun Belt football program. Taggart did a pretty nice job turning Western Kentucky around several years ago.

Looks like the rumor mill is stating FSU helped secure him a job for next year to cut down on the buyout.

...and the moving costs from Tallahassee to Mobile would be minimal.

Specifically USF from what I saw.

Which is really interesting since Charlie Strong still has a job right now.

Not sure how FSU would have any pull at another school. They may have said, we'll play nice and give you a glowing recommendation. But how would they reasonably "help secure" him another job?

Maybe some scheduling considerations. If it saved enough money it might be worth it. You have to play someone.

I don’t blame the dumpster fire that is FSU solely on Taggart. Jumbo is responsible for some of that mess.

I’d be happy to have Taggart!!! 04-cheers

I agree. Taggert didn’t get results as fast as FSU would have liked, but Jimbo drained the gas tank and then put put a little sand in the bottom before he left. It was a tough position for a lot of coaches to be in....that being said...his contract was set up nicely, so there’s that at least.

He's been brought up by at least two different guys on siriusXM college. If he had been at Lousville a little longer and had success I think he would be a more realistic player in the process. But since they just fired a guy with only one year of FBS HC experience, I think he's a long shot.

I'm confused. Taggart was at WKU for several years, USF for several, Oregon for one year, and FSU for 1.5.
