SMU Game Telecast - Skycam
Watching the SMU game on ABC it looked like they had a skycam running. Isn't that the first time we've ever had one of those? Was that a one time thing, or will it be there from now on?

I seem to remember reading somewhere that the Liberty bowl wasn't really set up right to have skycams. I guess a primetime ABC slot will help people find a way to figure things out.

RE: SMU Game Telecast - Skycam
I’m sure that was an ESPN prime time thing. The sky cam was connected to 4 light towers in each corner of the stadium. It was everywhere. It followed the game on the field and got crowd shots during time outs. That thing must be very adaptable. I’m sure it’s a little different set up in every stadium. But it moves around quickly and precisely.

There were a couple of drones over tiger lane. I’m assuming they were also owned and operated by ESPN.

The maneuverability of that device is pretty darn cool.

That was definitely the case in the past. Maybe this one is lighter or different in some other way. The Liberty Bowl lighting didn't change.

We've definitely had the skycam before.

Last time I remember is Navy 2015, but possibly since then.

I know we had it for Cincinnati that year.

Maybe Houston 2016 too.
