FSU fires Taggart

That was fast

Lost the fan base

Always seemed odd. He could coach and did a solid job at USF and Oregon. But man he moved from job to job. WKY or wherever to USF to Oregon to FSU within a few years

Seems like decades ago that FSU completely ruled the ACC and was an annual title contender nationally. It has only been since 2015

That opening worries me.

RE: FSU fires Taggart
If Taggart didn't have Quinton Flowers, he would have been fired at South Florida and that would have been it for his HC days.

Instead, he kept failing upwards.

I got a feeling he will tumble downward this time.

Does Herman's struggles at Texas, Taggart's failure n Morris' problems bode well for AAC coaches?

Have to throw Fuente into that mix as well.

Rhule seems to be doing okay.

He was a horrendous hire. Like others have said, he's just not a very good coach.

RE: FSU fires Taggart
I don't know if Taggart is that bad of a coach - he has moved up the ranks quickly after riding Flowers coattails at USF. But I believe Jimbo left FSU with a bunch of troublemakers after having let the thugs take control of the locker room. Taggart may not have been the guy for the complete flush/rebuild FSU requires, and for that reason I too hope they don't come after our coach since he's helped continue our climb out of the pit of football despair....

Right down the road from Tallahassee. Lane Kiffin. They'd be a fool to pass on him.

Bob Stoops in negotiations for the job. Was set to coach Dallas in XFL. Interested in keeping OC & DC. What I'm seeing...

When I heard Stoops I assumed Mark Stoops.

How long has it been since Bob coached? Why did he 'retire'

I really don't care as long as he takes the job, that adds a new coach to the mix, no new openings to worry about. Not that I am worried. Norvell will leave or will be fired eventually- I just hope it is 20 years from now, I will not give it much thought until it happens. I'm not gonna worry more than once

he left in 2016..to focus on family I believe was the reason given.
I'm assuming his children have since graduated high school and gone on to college or whatever the deal was.
His father had died of a heart attack at age 57(?), and that weighed in on his decision to spend more time with family.
Stoops was 56 when he stepped down at Oklahoma...he believed he already had the best available candidate to succeed him as head coach in Lincoln Riley.

listening to the so called sports talk radio out of Tally on the way home. man they are sold on the idea that Urban is coming to Tally and anything else is going to be considered a bust there.

they keep talking about them being one of the best 5 NCAA jobs in the country. they are about as delusional at UT fans.

I can see him going to USC. Florida St, I don't see that happening.
