vmi is a 300rpi team projected dead last in the SoCon...dooley feels they are drastically better...

i can almost guarantee they win..wouldnt be surprised if it isn't even close

Yeah I've been sounding alarm bells that if the PG's are out the upcoming road games and really weak tournament could be troubling, but if this game is close or a loss you can go ahead and write off the entire roster overhaul and Dooley's entire tenure.

I was just thinking that all of these games that are on ESPN3 this year, will be behind the ESPN+ paywall next year.

I guess we'll see. I think they'll win as VMI should be objectively worse, but I'm not going to believe ECU is significantly improved until I actually see it. The level they have been for years tells me no win is a guarantee.

11 new players. Joe Dooley & a terrific coaching staff.

I think we ought to throw the past out the window. Jeff Lebo is gone. Jeff Lebo's players are gone. Dooley's first year was with 90% Lebo kids that have transferred to:

Shawn Williams - NM State (The only good one, IMO.)
Justin Whatley - NC Central
KJ Davis - Samford
Deshaun Wade - Longwood
Tyler Foster - Youngstown State
Dimitri Spasojevic - UMBC

THAT is what we were playing with. Makes you just want to barf.

tulsa really reallly cant shoot

i cant see how you are a small ball team and then cant shoot...not counting the impact curtis haywood (who is still waiing on waivers/a shooter) they are going to struggle to score all season

Pretty sloppy so far, but that's not unusual for the 1st game. Plenty of time for them to clean it up.

I'm excited about basketball, more than maybe any other season, but I'm going to be distracted by another sport for a few more weeks. Not that I love it any more, but we have a chance to do something there that we've never done in football.

Until Penny wins the natty, of course. 03-lmfao

Their ballhandler also keeps picking up his dribble 30ft from the basket and no one moves around him.

the full court press did the trick, tulsa switches defense to the full court press & tulsa finally takes lead..hbu struggled to get past the press

Flurry at the end, great defense and team play cover up misses and mistakes, tulsa takes the lead at half 41-38
