RE: Joey's "stolen" TD return
I'm watching the replay. The refs made some good calls on some of our penalties, but it's hard to always see it at the game. You get limited amounts of replay there. Anyways, i think the call on joey's return is correct.

Also, we had a hold by #83 on gibson's kickoff return for a touchdown. That one was missed by officials. I didn't see it until i watched the replay.

Overall, the game was poorly officiated. I would definitely send video to the conference if i was the coach. Smu benefited a lot more on the calls, but we had some calls or no calls go our way too. They had so many holds not called like the first play by their offense. That was a hold. There was also a hold on smu before we ended with a late hit out of bounds in that play. The refs caught that hit out of bounds but missed the obvious hold which allowed the runner to turn the corner. The ref was right there, he just wasn't gonna call it. Instead of being 1st and 20, they get 25 yards and a first down. I'd much rather see the game called properly. Imho, those officials on saturday night totally screwed up the game. There is no telling what would have happened with proper calls, but i think we win by 3 touchdowns or more. Smu is good, but we just wanted that win more than they did.

The worse call was the non call on the facemask on gainwell. That was the same official who threw the flag on a holding penalty very late when gainwell scored just a couple plays earlier. We could have possibly scored a touchdown on that series but had to settle for the fg.

Which brings up a gripe of mine about game-day production in the stadium. The (whatever optometry company) "Let's look at that again" or whatever it is, they leave the sponsor's name up on the 'tron for too long, by the time they push the button or whatever to switch to the replay, the damn replay is almost over, so you don't get to see the critical part of the replay. Happened at least twice that I can remember.
