Did you encounter any SMU fans? They were in that corner by you. How were they, I didn’t run into any of them?

I encounter visiting fans every game due to that section, and you know what, I like being near the visiting section (unless it's Ole Miss, then I migrate over closer to the student section).

One, I get to keep an eye on them. But typically speaking, the type of fan that travels to Memphis (as far as AAC programs go, due to us being on an island) is going to be good people nearly 100% of the time. I like to tell 'em good game win or lose down in the concourse.

Awesome video! Beautiful sunset too when you panned that way.

Hearing those young tiger fans cheer is absolutely incredible.... # TheFutureGeneration

Those must have been the couple thousands tickets they couldn't sell, so local companies bought them up just to say it was a sell-out. Despite that, it still looked like a great crowd. I'd guess it was 95% full.

Those seats were completely full early, plus people were standing around the tops of the walls, all over. The seats in question did empty out first, sometime in the 3Q, but it was getting cold, and those were the peeps who got the free tix handed out on campus, courtesy of Ashley Furniture and a donor (George Johnson). My understanding is every one was given out.

I can assure you that not only was the LB 100%+ full, but practically all the seats were filled before kickoff, which might be a record.

The other time you might have been looking was right before or after the half. Like half a quarter each, lol.

Right. Not sure why that particular section was so empty but I bet this was pre-game and the ticket holders hadn't yet made it to their seats.

It's that simple.

Selling all unsold tickets for $9.01 couldn't hurt.

Let's be honest, you can scalp tix for that price every game except Ole Miss.

There was a crush at the Tiger Lane gate, as always, 15 minutes before kickoff. But they got us through very efficiently.

Heard AD Veatch on Calkins last week and GC asked him how we reported attendance. He said we do it comparable to the rest of the industry. We use a formula of various data points - sales, distributed, scans, vendors, students, staffs.

Hard to believe, but it's what he said.

Then let's compare. ESPN reports Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn has a capacity of 67,000 and change. Yet Auburn reported 84,000+ people at Saturday's game.

Talk about your standing room only.

There are a lot of unanswered questions regarding attendance, and not just for college football.

The biggest surprise to me, having been to Tiger games since the mid-1970's, is the fact that everyone was in there seats BEFORE the game! When ABC came to their first aerial shot, 10 minutes or so before kickoff, the place was PACKED and ROCKIN'!

I was shocked (pleasantly)!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that 67k capacity number is wrong. It's an +80k stadium.

Auburn’s website lists capacity at 87,451

Regardless of any empty seats up top, the stadium looked and sounded great on TV and was a great atmosphere. Hopefully we’ll get this kind of turnout for the Cincy game as well.

If we're 10-1 and the weather isn't horrible, there is no reason why we shouldn't have 50,000+.

That stadium holds 87,451. Just googled it.

That's pre-game.

HT had HS bands on the field.

Exactly right, virtually every seat in the place was full by kick-off.
