I like that he's a competitor but I think he needs to step back for a bit. D played lights out & kept this a much closer game than if they hadn't. A modicum of O early on might've made game look better. I liked the Umpire blocking our players for Tn on a few plays. Cash the check & back into conference next week but Tyler must stop the turnovers for us to have a chance in these last few games.

He probably won’t seeing that’s how he got the job in the first place

I have not been a fan of Vincent’s offense. To me it relies to heavily on the deep ball. If that’s not there then we have not been successful. Similar to south Alabama. They relied on the deep ball and it did not work for them. It is only going to work if our receivers are better than the dbs and our qb has time.

I think we should go get Bryan Ellis from WKU.

I liked the offense they ran.

I’m not saying Ellis wouldn’t do a good job but Vincent didn’t suddenly become incompetent. Last year he had the luxury of an Oline that could run block all day long and we could be balanced. This year they can’t be as balanced and TJ has shown a gift for throwing the deep ball. You work with what you have.

Now if TJ is out for any extended period you’ll see the offense adapt, maybe for the better. Dylan has a different skill set that is more diverse. I’m glad he got to see action last night because for him I’m sure he put a lot of pressure on himself to play well in front of the school that basically ignored him.

Both might be back for Southern Miss this week. No inside info just what I’m thinking/hoping.

Yep. They probably could have played this past weekend but were held out.

While our running game isn't exactly blazing saddles right now we need Dufour and Brown to have a decent chance running it versus decent opponents.

Totally agree about Dufour but I don't think Brown is our best back anymore. Not sure if it an accumulation of injuries or what but he has lost a step since his freshman year. Stanley has clearly been the better ball carrier this season.

Losing Dufour has been a big negative for TJ3 IMO. Dude's probably like a lot those guys uncle. He's been at UAB so long his injuries will probably be covered under Medicare soon.

I wish Clark had kept his comments about not preparing for UT to himself. Just give them credit for playing better than us and move on.

It would have been nice to have an OC who could make a simple adjustment to beat the blitz Tennessee ran all night. Johnathan Haden really isn't a running back. They keep trying to use him like James Noble, but Noble was 100 times more effective. ( not the same line, yeah I know). Haden is better as a slot/WB guy catching the ball out the backfield. Two backs in the backfield, with one going into the flat on the side they like to blitz from was an easy solution. You could even let the QB make the call and tell one to release once he saw the blitz. I'm not sure the QB knows or has good options for check downs.

Game vacations do not give wins to the opponent.
