1. It's a new O-line. Honesty, they've played better than expected imo.

2. The biggest disappointment is Tyler Johnston III. He is clearly having the Sophomore jinx season.

Especially number 2, with no backup groomed or being groomed

Looks like he’s out with a knee injury.

Obviously, TJ3 has not had a good night, and we probably needed to see Hopkins a good bit ago. But now he's apparently hurt, and if he's out, our hopes for competing for a conference championship are essentially gone.

I hope when we come back from commercial we see him trotting off the field, but it didn't look good before they went to the break.

We need a OL coach and an OC, that’s even in spite of TJ3 play. Run game non-existent against decent teams in regards to teams that are close to being on par with our overall talent. We need somebody that can recruit, evaluate, and develop at OL. The back ups haven’t been able to go, in our biggest games over the last 3 years. We’ve had to cross our fingers that the starters rushingly get healthy. This offense is too hit or miss. There’s no consistency in how it is ran. If not a change at OC, then make some changes that’ll attract athletes to want to play in this offense.

I’m over the best friend hires. We get away with it on defense, because Bill has a hand in running the defense.

Defense played well enough to win. Given up just 271 yards, and 20 of UT's points came off of our turnovers.

We are only being outgained by 34 yards at this point....and even with the late touchdown, we are losing by four scores.

I wish we had a color analyst that actually knew schemes and formations....you know like a former player. Nothing against Irvine but he should trade places with Tre Ragland.

He may be the better passer between him & Hopkins though.

Of course, no reason to blow a possible redshirt especially at mop up time.

defense play good
Johnson was better as a freshman ,,he seem to be hurt like a shoulder injury ,,,his ball have no zip
Back up qb was good
defense will keep us in every game for the rest of the season
UAB IS richer for this game
the real season start next week ")

Hopkins passes looked much better than Tyler's of late plus made a good read on the TD pass that I don't think Tyler would have made w/ the way he's been playing. I like that he's a competitor but I think he needs to step back for a bit. D played lights out & kept this a much closer game than if they hadn't. A modicum of O early on might've made game look better. I liked the Umpire blocking our players for Tn on a few plays. Cash the check & back into conference next week but Tyler must stop the turnovers for us to have a chance in these last few games.

You’d be chirping a different tune if we would have won. Lol

We are 6-2 & you’re whining like a baby. Lol. Relax dude. We should make it to a bowl game after losing 3,649 seniors. We’re good but we aren’t SEC good yet. We’ll be able to recruit better players as our new stadium opens. O

RE: ***Game Thread*** UT Edition
FYI, not defending Marino but UT was chippy with him leading up to that hit. I saw one play the UT should have been flagged. Not to mention the holding that went uncalled. I also think coach benched him for the 3rd quarter.

Refs influenced this game. I think that UT held our receiver for the first INT. They also missed two holds for the next two field goals. They also missed calls against us but UTs o line could not stop our guys unless they were holding. Never thought I would wish for CUSA refs...

The thing that stood out to me was our front 7. They just wouldn’t give ground. They adjusted protection in the second half to keep Guarantano upright.

TJ had a forgettable night all the way around. It happens but you just can’t stare down receivers at this level. Didn’t get to see the TD but it sounds like Dylan made a good read which is encouraging. I hope TJ’s injuries are minor but it’s next man up this time of year

Kudos to the alumni society for the shindig at Calhoun’s. Huge crowd and great food and atmosphere.

Let’s run the table starting with USM

Remember when I said earlier in the season Johnston wasn't throwing tight spirals but instead he was tossing wobbly ducks? Something hasn't been right with throws for most of the season.
