He's at the top of my list and we'd be foolish not to interview him.

Top of my list and would be a friggin’ game changer for a generation of UC sports fans. However, our current president was too close to ground zero when the Pitino dumpster fire was set ablaze. Not gunna happen which is frankly kinda sad.

RE: Tom Jurich
interesting piece on him from June 2018:

After months of turmoil, Tom Jurich isn't sure of his next move

I had forgot Pinto was at UofL. Honestly though Tom had a great relationship with the BOT, except John Schnatter (Papa John), and the administration during most of his tenure.

It might well be a positive for Jurich to Cincinnati. I wouldn’t be so quick to call it a negative.

Arguably the best AD we have had Bob Goin was somewhat "tainted" when he was hired. We should seriously look at Jurich if he has any interest.

FWIW, Bohn cut his teeth as an associate AD under Jurich at Colorado State.

Tom had a very good relationship with Pinto and nothing has changed in that regard. Having said that, I think he is enjoying spending tons of time with his grandkids and being able to fly off to Colorado where they have a home basically whenever he wants. I just don't see him wanting back in the game. If it was a lower profile school I'd recommend Mark but he isn't in a position for a job the caliber of UC.

Mark is a fine young man but he isn’t ready for a program the caliber of Cincinnati. I don’t believe he’s still in athletics. Last time I talked to Tom, Mark was starting his own his sports marketing / management group.

I believe Tom would be interested given the opportunity. I know he was initially interested in USF when it opened. Tom and Terrilynn are living in Tampa. They still have a lot of friends at our church near Oldham County here on north side of Louisville.

I sure would like to see this happen.

We're still in Bohn purgatory, but if/when his move to USC is finalized, I really hope to see Tom come to Cincinnati. If you hear anything you can share, don't be a stranger. 04-cheers

Would you happen to know what made the USF talks fall through? Was it Tom not being interested? Money or contract based? USF found something they didn't like?

I don’t know for sure but I think it was a combination of money and some of the perceived baggage of the hire. I think it was a timing issue.
