In URs case, a bad loss to Fordham and a loss to Yale at home. I am left to feel that the CAA is weaker this year than in any year I can remember. Most years, only the CAA bottom dwellers would have out of conference losses. This year we have contenders with bad out of conference losses. Going to be ugly come at large time for the league. A whole bunch of average teams.

Does all this mean JMU is a paper lion? I sure hope not but it does worry me.

It’s no different than the mvc. Once they are all done playing each other, it will be one elite team and a bunch of solid teams that look weaker due to parity.

And most of fcs teams have an fbs loss. You take that out, and the fcs only records don’t look as bad.

This is pretty much what I thought before season started. I thought we would win caa easily but then next 6-7 spots were a crapshoot.

It’s not a reflection on us at all. I’ve watched some of these so called elite teams in other leagues and the caa teams after us don’t look any different than them.

I think we are as good as anyone other than NDSU in the FCS.

The difference between the MVC and CAA are that NDSU is without a doubt better so far than JMU, and the SDSU & UNI are without a doubt better than the the 2nd and 3rd best teams in the CAA whoever they may be.

It's likely the MVC gets two top 8 seeds (or even 4), and possibly 3 top 8 seeds.

It's likely the CAA only get's one top 8 seed.

From 4th place down the two conferences are very comparable.

Watching NDSU play Delaware and SDSU, I don't think they are better than us. I see the smelly Bisons' young qb making big mistakes due to the defensive pressure we bring. I think the game would boil down to how well our d-backs play. They aren't going to win running the ball.

The chickens started a miserable excuse for a quarterback (Keyhole). When they finally replaced him with Henderson (who is their starter now), they played a ton better but were already too far down to come back. It was the opposite for SDSU. They started a very good quarterback who went out with an injury in the first quarter. SDSU led at the half. I believe that if J'Bore Gibbs hadn't gotten hurt, the Jacks would have won. They lost by only a touchdown.

And, I sent you a PM. Check your inbox.

I know - don't worry about it. We were routing for the same team. 04-cheers

Saw the Dartmouth / Harvard Hail Mary as time expired - almost exactly like Villanova JMU in 2008, except Harvard had the QB wrapped up and let him get away.

Agreed, thought the same thing watching the replay. A little better weather though this weekend.

Soooo,

Do we start the clock on when the castrated turkeys show up to hire Cig away, yet?
Fuente's got at least 1 more season I think. He's currently 30-18 at VT. 5-3 now, they have to make 7-5 to be bowl eligible (had 2 I-AA games).
-WF
-@ GT
-Pitt
-@ UVA
Watching them vs Miami I saw them put up a graphic showing the youngest teams in the nation, and VT was either the youngest, or one of the youngest, don't remember exactly. Looking at their roster quick rough count:
61 Fr/rFr
23 So/rSo
27 Jr/rJr
5 Sr/rSr
That is an insanely young team.

They recruit a lot of their speed from FL.

VT may very well end up winning the Costal. They'll probably lose to WF, but I can see them beating Pitt and GT. That will potentially set up a showdown with UVA the final week. It seemed inconceivable a month ago, but UVA has regressed from the start of the season and VT has gotten better. Of course, their reward will be getting humiliated by Clemson in the ACC Championship.
