Things going from worse to worser for MSU football...

At least it's another "Bye" week, they won't lose this Saturday.

Really happy we haven't faced this scenario yet. I see MSU is appealing BUT Bachie apologized to the team for putting them through this. WTF. Anyone remember Tony Mandarich? Steroids under Perles. Long time Sparty fan but time for Dantonio to move on.

I think that Dantonio has definitely reached his peak at MSU and is now just treading water with a team thats treading water at this point.

I think MSU makes a push to bring back Narduzzi as the next MSU HC... Dantonio leaves on his own and the portal floods with MSU players wanting out...

I see some dark days ahead for MSU....

Duffy's legacy besmirched by Denny and probation for MSU

This is just the latest in the downward spiral that is the end of the Dantonio era. No improvement over last year following the misguided reshuffling of offensive coaches. 6 players in the Xfer portal, likely more by seasons end. The team not responding to anything. Bottom half of the B1G in recruiting. An upcoming $4.3Million bonus IF he’s still HC in mid-January. Don’t forget the 7 hour deposition also in January.

Have to wonder if Reed is re-thinking his jump to MSU... wonder if he wants back... hahaha...

This is what happens when college sports become outsized, like the are in the Power Conferences in general and the Big 10 in particular.

Take the big money out of college sports and these sort of things won't happen, but it's too late to put the genie back in the bottle. Very regrettable.

Somewhat related in terms of people screwing up prestigious football programs:

Warren De La Salle, a powerhouse football program from Detroit area, forfeited their season right before the playoffs started this week due to a hazing incident. They had a good chance to win a D2 championship again.

Very unfortunate, but without knowing the details of the 'hazing incident' it does send an important message to the players, coaches and those involved with the program.

Simulated sodomy with a broomstick in the locker room I believe. According to DLS soccer coach on Ch7 last night all involved were clothed. A victim of the hazing made a complaint. Their HC was at Macomb Dakota when Balabani and Hall were there prior to taking over De LaSalle 3 years ago. No mention of any repercussions against him.

Those who think we have it bad should check out the Red Cedar Message Board. Every post is someone who's depressed about the state of MSU football, how they'll never be a consistent top Big 10 team, their best years are behind them, etc.

Very upsetting we weren't able to beat them this year.

Who do we want in the UofMich/MSU game?

It'd be nice seeing MSU continue going backwards. Getting Dantoni out of there (and them making a bad hire) could help us.

On the other hand UofMich isn't easy to cheer for. But at this point, they'd pretty need Ped St and Ohio St to both have 3 losses to win the Big 10, correct?

I'm still gonna pull for MSU. They're already dead, if they beat UM its hilarious

I'm not sure. I'd love to see Sparty sink even further. UMich ain't winning anything meaningful this year....again.
