JMU FB to Play at Virginia Tech in 2025

I could see us bringing a crowd similar to the size of the UR games at City Stadium if not more.
We have at least been led to believe that UVA does not want to play us. Who knows. If so, maybe somewhat because of the preceding paragraph.
Well they haven’t played us in 36 years and counting, so I don’t know what other excuses they can make up to cover up this glaringly obvious dodging.

Someone posted many years back that we rejected a game at UVA. Who knows if that was true. I would think it would be a no-brainer at this point if a game was offered. I could see why UVA would not want to schedule JMU, but then again I wear purple glasses.
Someone floated a rumor that UVA offered to schedule us but low balled the payout at $150k when we were routinely pulling in $300k+ at the time. Our admin had to pass. I don’t blame them.
Payouts to their usual FCS teams UR, WM and VMI were higher, so we called their bluff.

Yes, while I have no proof, I agree. Our fans overwhelmingly want to discount college games are about the cash more than being being afraid of a loss. If UVA was afraid of losing they certainly wouldn't have scheduled USC for a home and home and few years back. They continue to struggle with their FCS games and have for a long time, why would JMU be any different. FB is a challenge for UVA.

According to Greg Madia:
“From JMU assistant AD Kevin Warner: Virginia Tech will pay JMU $500,000 for the 2025 game in Blacksburg”
