NCAA Basketball All-Time Wins entering 2019-2020
Here is the top 15:

1. Kentucky 2,293
2. Kansas 2,274
3. North Carolina 2,261
4. Duke 2,176
5. Temple 1,926
6. Syracuse 1,904
7. UCLA 1,887
8. Notre Dame 1,880
9. St. John’s 1,854
10. Indiana 1,836
11. BYU 1,829
12. Utah 1,819
13. Cincinnati 1,816
14. Arizona 1,813
15. Purdue 1,803

UC has passed Arizona, Purdue, and Louisville in recent years (Louisville because of the vacated wins), and is inching closer and closer to the top 10. Not all that far off from 2000 wins either. Could be much much higher on this list without a completely lost decade in the 80’s. Just shows very few programs have won at a high level as consistently or more than UC.

Temple has a very old basketball program. Their first season was in 1894 which makes them one of the oldest programs in the country. As an example, UCLA did not field their first squad until 1919. UCLA's first team was in 1901. By the time UC's program kicked off its inaugural season, Owls already had around 130 games under their belt. They were very successful in the 1920s and 30s, whereas UC basketball did not start getting successful until the 1940s under Socko Wiethe.

It would be shocking if Jarron didn't finish the season as a top 6 all time UC scorer. He'll more likely than not end the season as a top 4 all time Bearcat scorer. He's got an outside change of finishing his career as the 2nd or 3rd leading scorer in Bearcat history.

Thanks for posting. I think lists such as this speak to our incredible history and heritage. Along with UC's high ranking in the all-time A.P. polls and other noteworthy objective measures of the greatness of Bearcat basketball. We need this sort of history prominently displayed somewhere in 5th/3rd Arena--maybe in a concourse area. I just don't feel we leverage it enough in our arena.

If it's there, ESPN or CBS will show it frequently in pre-game, post-game and coming out of commercial breaks--potentially great exposure.

All great players and of course no one compares to Oscar. But after him the one that really stands out to me is Ron Bonham. What he did in three seasons playing in our very controlled offense with no shot clock or three point line is amazing. In my opinion our greatest pure shooter ever and played on two of our greatest teams.

Louis Banks is the first Bearcat basketball player i actively remember rooting for (David Small has that distinction for football). Danny Fortson stands out a ton because that was three seasons for him as well.

Tony Pike had Steve Wolf on his ESPN 360 show today. Wolf says he has known Brannen since he was 7 years old. Spoke of his competitive nature and how he will get kids here who can shoot and press. Threw out a comparison to Ed Jucker. Said he expected Jarron and Tre to have big seasons and we will make the tournament for the 10th year in a row.

What is even more impressive is he scored that much playing alongside Hall of Famers Tom Thacker, George Wilson, Tony Yates and Paul Hogue. Surprised they had enough balls to pass around.

Cumberland only needs 522 points to move into 4th place. He got 657 points last year. If he matches last year's output, he'll tie Steve Logan for 3rd.

I think he'll score more this year. Last year UC ranked 338th in possessions per 40 minutes. Brannen's NKU team ranked 143rd. NKU averaged 5 more possessions per 40 minutes than UC last year (8% higher).

And in most cases Robertson and Bonham played in on average around 50 fewer games than the 4 year players on the list

Last year he played in 35 games. He'll play in 30 regular season games this year. Then how many tournament games? I'm also not sure he'll score nearly 19 points a game this year, but I guess we'll see. I think he could have a better season and score slightly less. I think UC will score more, but he may not account for such a high percentage of the points. We'll see. As I said, he could finish his career 2nd or 3rd in career points. Neither is out of the question.

I was thinking at first Jarron had a good shot at number 2 all time but I'm thinking you're correct. Last year we only had 1 player average double figures (Jarron).. I think we can expect more this year; probably 3-4. With that, Jarron's average would likely drop.

A nice goal for him would be the 2k mark.. He'd need roughly 22 a game to catch SK.

That'll be hard. We play in a bit tougher conference than UCLA. Wins are a little easier for them to get.

I saw everyone on that list play and without question Ron Bonham is the greatest pure shooter I ever saw in a Bearcat uniform.

Could be much much higher on this list without a completely lost decade in the 80’s. Just shows very few programs have won at a high level as consistently or more than UC.

Thinking about the trajectory of the programs in front of us, I don't see why we couldn't make it into the top 5 eventually.

All great players and of course no one compares to Oscar. But after him the one that really stands out to me is Ron Bonham. What he did in three seasons playing in our very controlled offense with no shot clock or three point line is amazing. In my opinion our greatest pure shooter ever and played on two of our greatest teams.

What is even more impressive is he scored that much playing alongside Hall of Famers Tom Thacker, George Wilson, Tony Yates and Paul Hogue. Surprised they had enough balls to pass around.
I saw everyone on that list play and without question Ron Bonham is the greatest pure shooter I ever saw in a Bearcat uniform.

Today most of Bonham's shots would be 3 point shots.
