really indepth, they project with the assumption the cj walker, deandre williams, yor anei are eligible...did not give temple credit for the duo and tulane oton

from reading the article they put alot of faith in coaches/brands ..and less about roster talent

they also took their stats from their last season as a gage for how good they are..so so they are low on players (compared to the hype their respective teams are putting out) like zach harvey, keyshawn embery, dj jeffries
That last bit is probably the x-factor for how standings will actually shake out. I'm not saying every transfer who didn't put up outstanding stats at their last school will be studs at their new school, but there's certainly the possibility that they will be. Look at Brandon Rachal... He went from averaging 4.4 Pts, on 20% 3PT and 55% FT at LSU to averaging 12 ppg, on 25% 3PT (it was a bit higher before his injury) and 80% FT for us. On the contrary, Reggie Jones went from averaging 10 PPG at WMU to only averaging 4 ppg and being benched for most of the season.

I think some of it has to do with if these players are moving up or down in the level of competition they're seeing, and how dedicated they are to improving. I'm not sure about Embery / Haywood, but both seem like guys that suffered through some setbacks at their last school. They might be better than they're given credit for. (Of course, they could turn out like Reggie Jones) but we've hit more often than we've missed on sit out transfers in terms of contribution level...

Them at 8 caught my eye. At first I was like 8th? That's ridiculous. But then I looked at who they had ahead of them and can make a case for all of them, so I get it. Not saying I think USF comes in 8th, I personally have them at 6-7 but can see them as high as 4. I agree I think it should be a really good year for the AAC.

his logic for usf at 8 makes little sense...

its was "usf had a good roster in 2018 with yetna, and they only finished tied for 7th", theyd expect the same..
2 major points he missed/not addressed

1) in 2018 almost the entire roster was underclassman...that entire roster is back (rideau is the only note-able difference) the 7 other key players are back but 2 years older
- its basically the 2018 roster but older, with 3 added 4stars (murphy, dawson, anderson)..and a highly productive mid-major transfer big (oduro)...

2) the 2018 team barely lost most of its games, most of their losses were single digits ..only 2 of their 13 losses they didnt have a chance to win, with underclassman

USF on paper should be 4 or 5...3pt shooting should still be a weakness. But "on paper" have the roster to win the aac.. but being "usf" a collapse isnt out of the question...ive said this before put usfs roster on wichita w/ marshall and everyone would be calling them a preseason top 30 team

you can tell the rankings definitely weighed brand and historic success into the equation

this will the first year you wont have a heavily cronin influenced team...good or bad cincy was almost guaranteed to be atleast decent last year..too many players returned from a good team...this year will be the real test for brannen..and definitely the type of a year falling out of the top 3 is possible if brannen is a top tier coach
