The dinner at the Briar Club was a full house, and it was especially neat to see so many former coaches, teammates and colleagues of the honorees.

On a personal note, I had the unique privilege of serving as M.C. for this year's ceremony. The honorees were obviously the stars of the show; my role was simply to acknowledge the event sponsors, describe the awards, and try to keep the program moving (I also took the liberty of providing a few score updates from the World Series). But it was a tremendous honor to play even a small part in honoring the honorees. I am grateful to the R Association (the host organization) for asking me to serve.

The next class of the Rice Athletics Hall of Fame will be inducted in 2021 (it is a biennial event). To submit a nomination to the R Association's Hall of Fame Committee, please visit the Hall of Fame page at riceowlclub.com
