I had not paid much attention to Rice, just that they have a 0-7 record and should be one of the few "sure wins" for Southern Miss. I just looked over their schedule and realized they're not nearly as bad as their record indicates. Their only blowouts have been against Texas and a very good Wake Forest team. They only lost by 8 points to undefeated Baylor. And they lost to Louisiana Tech by 3 points in overtime.

Southern Miss needs this win badly, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a TTT moment.

They’re the best 0-7 team in the country, but the reality is that they’re still 0-7. If we lose, that will seal Hop’s fate just like it did Bower’s. Would be kinda poetic.

Looks like we're going to hold on for the win, but wow, this was some pretty uninspired football, especially on the offensive side of the ball....TTT!
