I guess nobody cared since it was only against Dayton.
… sorry.
Since Dayton is a non-D1 school, I believe there's a prohibition against sharing details.

Meh, this is a scrimmage. Not much to take out of it tbh. I am guessing we had guys who did not play (Jarron for sure) and I read on a UD a couple of theirs were not going to suit up. With the reports the cleared the score after each quarter I doubt either team was competing at their best .

Given Brannen's relationship with Anthony Grant, I wonder if we will be scheduling Dayton in the regular season anytime soon. Opinions on this board have always been mixed about playing UD, but I'm definitely not against it.

RE: "Secret"Scrimmage
playing Dayton is a no brainer
quality out of conference foe that is 1 hour away
only reason not to is if Brannen and Grant don’t want to due to friendship.which i doubt would be the case

RE: "Secret"Scrimmage
Bohn has stated on record at UCAT functions that he wanted to play UD. Would be a sure sell out and would draw a lot of interest across southwest Ohio/Miami Valley. Mick has stated at functions he did not want to play UD, as he saw there was "nothing to gain from a series". I think our chances of playing them have increased, unless JB does not want to play against AG.

Put it this way: A LOT better than playing a series vs. Miami-OH in football.

My attempt at humor/ trolling Def missed. I'm glad we scrimmaged UD, and I'd frankly love to play them each year. Hell, bring back the MMVC (Mythical Miami Valley Conference) and throw the Redhawkskins in there too. Dayton is a guaranteed Top 100 game each year, and Miami is at least better than some of the bottom dwellers Mick scheduled.

Always wanted to continue the UD series. I think a mix of NKU, Miami, and Wright State could work too under the rigor terms. Would like to see the Ohio State series continue but would view Dayton as an acceptable regional replacement.

I'm really disappointed that Cincinnati Time Man didn't come through with information on this secret scrimmage.

sorry but the university of Dayton has a great history in Division 1 History. Your trying to tear them down just reveals you are a Xavier weenie.

UD has a fine basketball history. Unfortunately, it is increasingly ancient history. Except for the 2-3 year run under Archie Miller, Dayton's history is more than 50 years old. Dayton increasingly reminds me of a DePaul or Loyola of Chicago that saw a brief flicker of basketball relevance but more recently is just one of 300 hundred or so Division I basketball schools. The problem is that UD's fans mistakenly believe that they're some sort of hoops blue blood school when actually they fit comfortably in
with, among others, Fordham, St. Bonaventure, Rhode Island, Duquesne, LaSalle and Richmond.

Two things in paper today caught my eye: Steele saying X lost to Akron and Quote from Mitch Stacy AP Sports Writer " The Buckeyes open Nov. 6 at home against Cincinnati. The first big test will be against Villanva on Nov. 13. WTF......

Inside Mitch Stacy's head...
" Hmmm... Let's see... Ohio State's schedule... OOOH! I've heard of Villanova on TV. That must be their first BIG test."

Dayton is differentiated from other mid-major programs by its attendance figures and community support. UD basketball is the top sports franchise in a mid-sized city. I can definitely see the attraction of signing with Dayton for a recruit who doesn't have (m)any high major offers but still wants a big-time experience.

Dayton won. 81-74.
Heard from a UD season tix holder at work today. He said he got it from one of their boards.

Not bad, considering Jarron almost certainly sat out. We're really relying on him for a lot this year.
Dayton returns nearly everyone from a 21-12 team last year, and they have 3 Junior transfers who sat out last year. They're a deep veteran team.
