Yes and No. I mean, even in 2016 you still had 48% or so that said, “Yeah, gimme some more of that!”

And then, what about 2018?

It became apparent to me, not the sharpest knife in anyone's drawer, long ago that it was a tactic doomed to boomerang on them. You simply cannot please everyone and the more promises you keep making to different groups the less promises you're able to keep, pretty soon you start overlapping demographics and what's promised to one is considered a threat to another. Not that a democrat ever kept a campaign promise to begin with...
