Temple fan comments after loss to SMU. Quite the treat
I decided to join the Temple fan page on FB. What a treat. Reads exactly like our board during, after talking about Carey era , Hammock. Heck, it sounds like our team play and any team short of Alabama, who I am sure has their nut jobs too.
Here's a sample of some posts. Just change the names and it sounds like our posters no matter what camp you are in. I am sure each game of theirs is a treat just like our page!
And to think...this is a 5-2 team.
(Carey post game video)
Hello Captain Obvious. It's not like we the fanatical faithful were not already well aware of the glaring and oh so real weakness and existing problems on this years team. The stone hands core of receivers dropping balls that were totally and completely catchable at college football at the level they are playing at, is just plain inexcusable and totally unacceptable. Plus, the secondary is and has been as shaky as a stoned drunk going through the DT's. Well? Guess what? Coaches, it's high time to make some changes and fix this bull**** now. Or the poor decisions and bad play will be repeated again and things will only get worse. Good news, the issues are completely fixable by owing the screw ups, and making the necessary changes and adjustments. There is still a lot of football left to be played this season
It's amazing to me how when the coach says it he is being "straight forward", but when I point out our flaws you applaud me getting a "debbie downer award".... seems a little hypocritical to me
???? What would you want Carey to say? We played well, except for the 8 dropped passes and 3 penalties for unecessary late hits.
All coaches are responsible for their teams performance. It’s the job of the coaching staff to keep pointing out the mistakes work at correcting them, and if they continue to be made, perhaps someone else on the depth chart gets an opportunity
... you can't take these things personal... or at least you shouldn't!! Fans are passionate and their anger from a loss tends to be misguided
Penalties, dropped balls and failed coverage of ends out would have made a BIG difference - mostly coaches’ problem!
Well ...in seeing the post and reading the comments .....do we have a chance to come out ahead and happy by the end of the season????
Some people are never happy and think we are a winless team
discuss the game without attacking other fans
It was terrible performance but we are not a bad football team! If we really want to be a top 25 team then we have to win out. Right now we are in the top 50. We have a tough one coming up at home in UCF. A win over that power house would put us back on course!
We beat ourselves today. Just like Buffalo. Everyone drops the ball. We weren't mentally ready to play.
It’s sad when people only post to blast the team. Never post when they win. I never understood what makes these people so angry
I think that is EXACTLY what the coach just did. Try to remember that we are taking about a group of young men who, by the way, are going to college and just happen to be talented enough to play football. While some of them will go on to have a professional career in the game, most of them will not and their education is vitally important to their futures.
I agree with you that the sky is not falling but you do realize what fans do right? It’s okay to criticize your team after a loss. It doesn’t mean you don’t support them. Temple lost to a better team and has some work to do before UCF. We all know they know that. This is a place go for fans to vent and discuss. I’m a fan not a fan boy.
The bad news is that the coaches have had already 7 games to correct mistakes and we are still making juvenile mistakes - that includes coaching mistakes too!
the drops hurt which is 'correctable' . getting burned on D by a really fast guy and giving up 620+ yards... hmmm
I watched players dance to the band while the team is getting beaten pretty badly. I get the team doing stuff together but not individuals dancing rather than focusing on what’s going on. I will always be a Temple fan - I’m a former player - but I was disappointed in what I saw yesterday. But we should mope for 24 hours then focus on UCF.
We lost to a really good nationally ranked team. We are still a good team. Why does everyone feel the need to make some grand analysis post about it? The coaches and the kids know what needs fixed. Get over yourselves. We are in a good conference with good teams. We will have losses. Beat UCF!
Our wide receivers can’t catch and theirs can. That’s about the story.

Good gravy, why are so many obsessed with Carey? We got what we wanted — he's gone. Let it go, for crying out loud.

I’m sure all these little coaches on Facebook could take over Temple tomorrow and beat 2 P5 teams plus a top-25 team in one season.

Rod Carey had Temple ranked # 22 in the country. For prospective...what Carey accomplished in his first six weeks, had not been done at Temple since 1979...
Guess, just like when he coached here..further proof it is better to be lucky then be a good cosch... huh??

If he keeps it up, Carey will have his choice of statue between two schools.

Maybe Carey should have a statue at both schools! And also one at Indiana, where he played, and another one in Decatur, IL where he once took a dump.

At first glance, I thought no shot. You had me curious so I looked back at the 127 year history of NIU coaches only to learn Carey ranks 2nd all time in winning percentage, and 4th in victories.
No, I do not think a statue will be made. However, if he did not get hired to coach Temple, and stood around for a couple more years..think you just might have had your starue

I forgot about PJ! We need a statue for him, too! I will be setting up a dual Go Fund Me page for Carey's and PJ's statues. I expect each of you lovers of these men to donate a minimum of $2,500 each. We'll get these statues funded in no time!

If not for Sutton Smith we may very well have been -5 at this time of year last year. Not to add to the Rod trash talk but...just sayin’.

Only one coach in the country identified an undersized running back from Missouri as an All-American DE in college.

You are pathetic . Did you really join temple fan forum to stalk coach carey? Why do you want a coach tied to NIU to fail? What did he do to you?
Side note Temple has a better record and going to a bowl game . Also SMU will most likely go 12-0.
Move on man! I bet you voted for Hilary and post about trump everyday as well.

Lighten up man, he was doing this a lark, to show how similar our contentions were regarding Carey as Temple's fan base. Randy Fens, would never stalk anybody..just not his style.
These conversations tend to pop up when the only alternative discussion is regarding a 2 - 5 sinking ship

I'll assume you are talking about the original post. Did you even read it?
Simply put the Temple board is a carbon copy of this board. Probably many across the country. That was the point. Those comments could have been on here 2 yrs, 2 day or 2 hours ago. It's not just a Carey or Hammock, NIU or Temple issue. Doesn't matter if you are 5-2, 2-5. Everyone has some opinion. Some use fact, many opinion and some too far. Blame can go to players, coaches and even fans. It's polarizing, opinionated just as it seems you are and your "(You) voted for Hillary." And they even have some levelheaded people who can read and comprehend, unlike yourself, as we do on here.
Take your meds, have a beer and take a deep breath before your 19th post.
