OK, I'll be that guy. We will win every game all the way through. This team has more than 10 legit D1 starters. This team has height, shooting, speed, athleticism, multiple NBA prospects, depth and great coaching.

Experience will be less and less a problem with each passing game. We can handle injuries because of our incredible depth, poor shooting because of our incredible depth, foul trouble because of our incredible depth and hostile environments because of our incredible depth.

Unlike the past great Tiger teams that fell a tad short, we have more than 5-6 great players. We are at least 2 deep at every position.

Maybe someday this year I will be proved wrong, but until then.

Point guard play and a bunch of freshmen learning how to play D1 defense, will determine our ceiling. We can be anywhere between a Final Four and Round of 32 team.

I'll agree on one point. We are currently undefeated in basketball.

I believe a special season is ahead of us. Undefeated? No way. Look it up and you'll see how rare a feat that is. I'll be happy....well, content....with a S16, and we build from that.

Nothing wrong with being excited about the possibilities but undefeated isn't going to happen.

Let's see how bad it hurts our players to lose.

Some teams just can't stand it. I hope this group is one of those

I think back to Cal's first 5 years here and all of the preseason hype and top 25 rankings, then underachieve.

I hope you're right, but I have to think a conference title and Sweet 16 would be a great success, this year.

I don't know about undefeated, but this is the first year since 2008 that I feel like we have a legit chance at the NC.

That's what high level teams are.

We may not win it. we may not make the Final Four.

But we will be in the mix.
And if we lose, the team that beats us will bear the scars of battle.

For us to win it all, it means Wiseman is a "special" talent. When I say that, I don't just mean a great all-american talent, but an Anthony Davis level talent. It would also mean that guys like Lester, Baugh, Ellis, are even better than their billing. Lomax and Harris being well improved also would be good. Plus, Penny has to prove himself on the floor. I think he can coach, but the rest of the country isn't quite sold yet.

I think anything less than a Final Four would be a disappointment this season given our school record best recruiting class and highest rated recruit. Let's face it, all the stars must align to get to the Final Four. We have as many aligning as we have ever had this early in the season. If we can't expect to when it all this year, when can we expect it? So I expect to be NCAA tournament champs! But won't be disappointed in the season as long as we make the Final Four.. only because one should never be disappointed in a Final Four appearance.

As far as going undefeated it could happen this season as easily as it almost did in 2008. I'm hoping we don't lose any games but think losing 4 is at the top of the bell curve as most likely with undefeated just as possible as losing 7 or more. So losing more than 4 would be a disappointment as far as a season record goes.

I agree that we need a Kevin Durant/Anthony Davis/Carmelo Anthony in this group. It doesn't have to be Wiseman though. I also think at least one other player rises to the level of a one and done.

But I also think with all these new guys, we can afford for one to be a Paris London/Duece Ford/K J Lawson level player and it doesn't hurt us, unlike in the past.

I think you are correct.

One thing about the Calapari years is that it made us much more realistic about what a true championship contending team looks like.

There's a difference between a team that could claw it's way to the Elite 8 (we have had many) and a team that is likely to make the Elite 8. I think there is a line there.

Then there are teams that are likely to make the Final Four. Those are very rare. This might be one of those, but I have to see them play first. I do think they are likely to make the Elite 8 just based on pedigree alone. And that's not bad at all.
