EMU Steve, with respect to you, because your love of EMU sports is unmatched, but we've gone from the worst to mid pack at best, and this is year 6...…..Keen is over his head, and isn't A D1 caliber coach! C Mich was 1-11, and has been playing with their backup QB a lot of the season, and there record is a little deceiving, because their OOC schedule was brutal, but McElwain in 9 months has taken the same team, and made them winners!!!!!!!! Creighton will never do that period! He plays to keep the games close, never goes for kill! Buffalo today never thought about kicking FG's on all those 4th and 2! They kicked are butts, and it was over...….Who on paper thinks C Mich has more talent then us? Coaching and game plan management separate winning from losing!

Glory Days, Creighton plays it safe for sure. To be fair don' give to much credit to Leipold for not kicking on fourth down. He has a lousy kicker and opponents are converting on better than 80% of such attempts.

At the game today. Eastern played worse against Buffalo then they did against Central. We looked totally unprepared, the tackling and pass coverage was abysmal, when you consider that this was supposed to be a strength.
When there is no pressure from the front four, (and that has been all season) why aren't we blitzing? It seems like Neathery waits until the second half before blitzing.
The game was lost, but why not go for an onside kick with a minute and a half to go. Maybe get another score. That goes along with the play calling. No reverses, no screen passes, the double pass once.
I could go on, but why. This team is terrible.
How about that buffalo touchdown where their ol just pushed our dl the whole dl into the end zone? That was a big tell.07-coffee3

going for it on fourth down isnt a lot less brave when the other team cannot stop the run

Belichick couldn't 'coach up' that front 7

We're on the same page. There's an obvious talent deficiency on the front 7 and that needs to be fixed. Wonder how some if the freshmen are looking in practice.

The front 7 is really bad, but it makes you wonder how we missed on all 7 players! The DL coach making offers has to held accountable by CC, and so does the OC, and RB coach! We've D2 talent on the DL, and that's not an exaggeration! MAC teams are running down our throats! [/align]

Dear superfan,
You are soooo right about their offensive line pushing our defense five or six yards for that touchdown. That was embarrassing.

Ignore Bob. He's our local contrarian that says stupid stuff just to get under people's skin.

Compare Creighton's record to English's or Genyk's--neither of whom had close
to the funding that Creighton enjoys. Talking tough and looking earnest is great, but bottom line, do you win?

I suspect that CC will reach a breaking point and resign like Harkema. He works very hard. It has to be an emotional strain. I hope it doesn't work out that way, but he's obviously been frustrated.

That would be fine. He’s obviously a very good D2 coach.

But we are well into his tenure here, and the program is as mediocre and milquetoast as it gets.

I only had the displeasure of listening to the game, but I recall that hands to the face call was on a freshman. Freshmen ol/dl should never see the field. 4 years of weight training and eating is just insurmountable.

Ot: wemu has a pretty good broadcast crew. Doesn't make it hurt less, but many of the big time programs are just cringeworthy

he's not going to resign. he's in it for the long haul. and thats a good thing. the program need stability. we cant afford to bottom out and take a risk. i think we'll tweak the coaching staff and run it back next year.

This comment ignores. that CC has enjoyed coaching success at every level including FCS. He isnt overmatched as a coach at this level. I will take 6 and 6 each year over the previous dumpster fire coaches.

The bar is low here. Name another program who's fans would make that statement...maybe Rutgers fans. Vanderbilt? I bet Vandy fans expect and demand a winning record in the SEC. This post is EMU fan in a nutshell. Just happy to be here.

The player in question is a redshirt freshman, so this is his second year with the program. At this point he's had two summers of working out with the team, and one off-season under his belt. While your point is valid that upperclassmen tend to be more fully developed, it's not unusual to see redshirt freshmen get time on the line, particularly if their position slot is not too deep.
