I will agree with you in that Kent State has not invested in marketing and promotions in many, many years.
Lack of marketing and promotion. Totally agree . It is non-existent and a travesty. Our coaches and players deserve better. Their effort is awesome

Agree, I have been pretty outspoken about tables. They could care less what donors and students think. That’s the problem with Athletic Dept and new Admin also. They do as they please.

I know this Is late, but CSU has a 1st year coach who was an assistant @ Florida State for many years and he hired Dru Joyce III as an assistant coach on 1st staff. Dru is the recruiting coordinator as well. Lots of transfers (JC, CC, & Graduate) on the roster.
Good blowout win by the team!

I don't understand why the powers in charge don't utilize the glass-enclosed area at the other end. Move the fans that want to carouse up there. Talk about another bad look, even when the MACC is packed, the glass-enclosed area always appears to be empty.
The overhaul of the MACC cannot come soon enough.
Story I’ve been told is bleachers going to Field House at some point. A riser will be placed there to put tables and chairs for donors raised a foot or two off floor. This will really make the optics really bad. Once bleachers are moved those of us that dislike the situation will be SOL.

Hah Hah. All I will admit to is being over 21 . My father used SOL all the time , which is where I got it. You know , they say as we get older we become our parents ?. All kidding aside bleacher issue a big problem. Our students fund athletics, they deserve good seats.

I’ve said this many a time but if you really think about it the city of Kent has to know there is a Division 1 basketball team in the area. Maybe there just aren’t many adult basketball fans.

Fans or not, there are ways to get people in the seats.
Has Kent ever partnered with a local restaurant for dinner and a game promotion? ... Has Kent ever partnered with a local coffee shop for a discount ticket promotion? ... Has Kent ever partnered with any local business (grocery store, drug store, family diner) for a family plan ticket promotion?
Simple things that require little more than leg work, a glad hand and a smile.
"It's online" ... or ... "it's on the website" ... is not marketing and promotions in my opinion.

I don't have any inside information... And I'm seriously hoping you don't either. That's a mind-numbingly stupid idea. Even if you plan on having those tables there for just about every game the idea of a packed house for an Akron game with that wasted space is comically dumb. If you want to rip out seats and put tables somewhere do it in the seats above the band (you know the ones currently hidden by the giant banner anyways). Based on how many people are in the donor lounge each game there's plenty of space there and it would provide the experience of actually being at a basketball game that you don't get inside the glass enclosure.

I agree. Put the space somewhere on the second floor. Allegedly, the space is reverting back to students in January. I dont know if its permanent. I would call Athletics and voice your displeasure.

I saw Sendy tweeted that this is the 1st time in program history with 10 wins at this point in December. @ Mississippi State on 12/30/19 to close out the non-conference. Then 2 tough tests to start MAC season, @ BG & vs Toledo.

Very confident in my source stating bleachers back for this MAC season then gone and risers coming. Alcohol for Anyone over 21.
Of course with this Athletic Dept , changes are made off the cuff.
We need to voice our feelings before bleachers are removed because once they go , they’re gone. BTW BB attendance is of NO concern to them . Zero .
