The 2020 candidate raising the most money in California? Donald Trump, apparently
Quote:California is a deep blue state, but the 2020 presidential candidate who raised the most money in the state over the last three months is none other than Republican President Donald J. Trump.
According to a recent analysis from the Los Angeles Times, Trump raised $10.78 million from California donors donating $200 or more from July-September.
This is more than the top four Democrats combined — as California Sen. Kamala Harris, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg and former Vice President Joe Biden raised a combined $9.94 million. Harris led the Dems with $2.84 million on donations exceeding $200, and was followed by Sanders at $2.42 million, Buttigieg at $2.35 million and Biden at $2.33 million.
The Times found that the bulk of Trump's donations are coming from Southern California, but he's also drawing from urban and rural areas across the state.

Additionally, the Times found that most of Harris' donations are coming from Hollywood and the Bay Area. Harris has long been the preferred candidate of many of Hollywood's biggest names.
Interestingly enough, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren was just fifth among Democrats with $2.25 million raised from large donations, despite her national poll numbers rising dramatically during this time period. The only other Democrat who raised more than $1 million was entrepreneur Andrew Yang.

I think it's only deep blue because of the coastal cities and their large populations. Get away from the coastal areas and Cali is surprisingly conservative.

Met some really cool dudes from Fresno when my wife and I went out to Cali this summer - they definitely had a conservative bend. They suspected that Cali would start to swing red again once Newsom "spends the whole budget on social issues" (their words)

Now that California has late voting, conservatives will never win another seat, much less statewide.

I think they are still voting in GA for governor too. Hope DJT addresses this.

You think these demographics are going to vote a state red? Keep dreaming. Remember now, the Democrats "plan" is to attract illegal immigrants so we can have them vote blue.
Once the Hollywood folks know who to donate their money to, it will go to that person in huge chunks. If Trump wants to waste his money on California, go for it.
