This is fine except that I'd move Navy up to Tulane's spot and drop Tulane and Temple down a spot. I also think ECU should be grouped with Tulsa, USF, and Houston.

I'd certainly have USF ranked above ECU. ECU hasn't beat anybody with an RPI better than 140.
That’s a fair point. We’ll find out who is better this weekend. My guess is that the line will be -3.5 for USF.
I think that Tulsa is the best of the bottom.
ECU is improving every game and needs to find a way to put 4 good quarters together. USF seems to be stuck in neutral while Houston seems to be regressing. UConn is better than last season but still terrible.

Navy is a really good team. Their run defense is really good too. They have played 3 of the worst teams in the AAC so far but those games weren't even close. Should be interesting to see how they do this week against Tulane and then against SMU on 11/22.

RE: Rank the AAC after week 8
This is where it really begins to get tougher as we all play against each other. This list is based on performance this season to date and is not intended to be predictive.
1. SMU (7-0, 3-0) Spanked a top 25 team to remain undefeated
2. Cincinnati (6-1, 3-0) Maybe an ugly win but Tulsa plays well enough to keep games close
3. Memphis (6-1, 2-1) redemption moves the Tigers up after demolishing a top 25 team
4. Navy (5-1, 3-1) Time to recognize the excellent season the Midshipmen are having
5. Temple (5-2, 2-1) 2-1 against top 25 teams but a weak effort in Dallas
6. Tulane (5-2, 2-1) tough road loss against a resurgent Memphis
7. UCF (5-2, 2-1) Knights win but against who?
8. Houston (3-4, 1-2) Not impressive against the Huskies
9. Tulsa (2-5, 0-3) Close losses are still losses
10. ECU (3-4, 0-3) Not the Pirates year
11. USF (3-4, 1-2) the Bulls record is deceptively better than it should be
12. UConn (1-6, 0-4) bottom 5 in FBS
Temple, Tulane and UCF are interchangeable at 5,6 and 7. UCF at Temple this week may sort that out.

That’s disingenuous though. ECU hasn’t hardly played anyone between 50-110. It’s either good teams or bad teams we still don’t really know exactly what ECU is. NC State is 64 in Massey composite but that was first week of the season and ECU is a better team right now.

People not giving ECU a lot of respect but we have played three conference games against 3 top conference teams in Temple, UCF, and Navy with USF coming up we should start getting on a track especially with UConn and Tulsa at the end of the year.
1) SMU
2) Cincinnati
3) Memphis
4) Navy
T5) Temple, Tulane, UCF
T8) ECU, Houston, South Florida
11) Tulsa
12) UConn
This looks right.
USF and Tulsa will be dog fights. The team has enough fight and heart now to take 1 of those but I’m not counting on it. No chance against Cincy and SMU. They’re going to destroy us. I’d love to see 5 wins but I’m thinking 4 is most plausible. Having us tied for 8th seems right.

Cincy fans putting them ahead of Memphis are delusional. "If we didn't play a team that was 42 points better than us, we'd be undefeated."

I think the top 3 are obvious, although SMU has to have the edge due to being undefeated.
SMU
Cincy, Memphis (tied, alphabetical)
UCF
Navy
Temple
Tulane
The last five are a mess.
Houston
USF
ECU
Tulsa
The Big East

I think we turned a corner in the 2nd half last night and we'll find out more next week. No moral victories but that's the type of gritty performance that can be a catalyst for confidence moving forward. You can argue UCF let the foot off the gas but they were competing. ECU was down 35-3 with a minute to go before the half and closed it to 35-22 halfway through the 3rd. That's not garbage time. After that it was a fight.
ECU had 2 turnovers that ended deep 2nd half drives and that was ultimately the difference in the game. Hats off to UCF as they did what they had to do but this isn't the same old ECU team. ECU is slowly becoming a gritty, tough minded, physical football team which is the personality of coach Houston. I guarantee UCF is a little beat up today. ECU may not have a good resume to this point but are starting to pass the eye test more and more each week. Unlike previous regimes, ECU is getting better as the season progresses. I think ECU has a better than 50% chance of victory over USF on Saturday.

Question: how many seasons has Tulsa quit on after a rough start? Compared to say, Houston?

I actually don't mind if Houston was placed last... next season however is a whole new ball game.
