RE: Game Week: @TOL
Toledo may be down to it's true frosh 3rd string QB. Starter Mitch Guadagni is injured and backup Bradley is listed as questionable with an injury,
They also have Eli Peters, who has played some, but is apparently in the dog house with the coaching staff and isn't expected to see the field.

Wondering if he's looking to transfer.

WTF happened to Toledo? A rival rising up for an upset is one thing. But the pantsing by Ball State? Where’d it all go wrong?
They were down to their #3 QB by the end of the BGSU game, and their #2 QB started against Ball State, so I'd say that was a factor. As to why the Ball U. game went so off the rails, no idea.
Our #2 & #3 QBs are both freshman, so very little experience there after losing our 5th year senior QB for the year due to another concussion. The team wasn't mentally in it against Ball St. whatsoever, and the million dollar coaching staff couldn't do a damn thing to fix it. I've never quite seen anything like this at Toledo. From 4-1 with big wins over BYU & WMU, now to this in a matter of two weeks. Maybe something internally happened? Season might be completely lost, but time will tell.

Being kind let me just say Creighton is 1-4 against the Rockets. EMU has two wins over UT since 2000.
I think Coach Creighton has done a great job in Ypsilanti. Good luck to the Eagles(I prefer Hurons)
except this Saturday.

Charlie Batch getting nostalgic for his big game winning pass over Toledo and sharing the video: "#TBT 1994 Eastern Michigan @EMUFB vs Toledo @ToledoFB. Here's a TD pass to Ontario Pryor on the games final play to beat Toledo 40-37. What a way to end the season. Lets get the win this week EMU."

Ah yes . The Philadelphia Eagles era. Interesting seeing the stadium before the convocation center was built.

Absolutely not. The damage has been done. A Rocket loss to EMU would be meaningless at this juncture. Attendance will drop in the GB. You can see fan interest in any possible Bowl game has greatly diminished. The majority of this staff, if not all, need to go. It probably the only thing that will recharge the
fan base. Things have gotten too comfortable.
Can't wait too long(another season) to make changes.
Candle in my mind is an impressive coach. Are you proposing to rehire Amstutz or someone of that ilk?
When we do eventually replace Candle (for one reason or another), I doubt we'll be limited to choices that remind anyone of "Amstutz or someone of that ilk". I think that will be a pretty good looking option for some folks who want to move up from FCS as a head coach or trying to break in as a first-time HC. For every Amstutz we've had a Saban, Pinckel and Matt Campbell...not too shabby.

Actually I was defending Candle who I think is an impressive coach, rather than dissing your program. Your university has been a launch pad for many Power 5 coaches and even "Toledo Tom" had a reasonable amount of success. It's am impressive job, albeit a downsized version of the one in the center of the state, to be sure.
I was born and raised near Lima and have an affection for Toledo athletics as a result. I have been impressed by Candle's overall behavior and truly believe his future is bright. Then again our expectations in Ypsilanti are far lower than in Toledo.
Also if you beat us Saturday and lose to CMU in November, I might have to revise my opinion of Candle. LOL!

No worries—I didn’t take it as a slight. I just wanted to reinforce that none of our MAC brethren should weep too much for the Rockets when we have to go coach hunting. Maybe next time we pay a coach $1 million we’ll get our money’s worth.
I like Creighton, by the way. Impressive job done up there. I really think it’d be interesting to see what he could do with Toledo’s roster. And if I had my way, we’d steal your DC.
Looks like miserable weather for Saturday. Haven’t decided if I want to go see you guys beat us in the cold, wind & rain yet.

Pryor was a good receiver; good size and could catch. His playing career was shortened when he got horse collared and tore up his knee. Rasnick said something that seemed harsh. It was sort of like, he's going to be okay and will be able to walk.

It's GAME DAY down in TOLEDO.
Looks like the weather is going to be iffy at the start but a strong chance of rain as the game goes on. Too bad this isn't a noon game...
We are a 3-point underdog.
BTW, a lot of games, mostly crossover, which can muddle the MAC West if teams like BSU and CMU lose to MAC East opponents.
