I finally saw him signal for relief after one of his fantastic catch and run play.

18 rushes and 9 pass catches might be too much.

I remember people saying we were over-using DeAngelo. Running the tread off. I recall he had a decent NFL career.

Gainwell is young and doesn't take big hits. PT would help, but he'll be fine.

I don’t know his health, but you have to wonder if the national spotlight helps facilitate his being healthy for this weeks game. If he is t healthy, that obviously out the window. If healthy enough to play, this could get the national media speaking about him and upping his draft status.

Hope you are right, but DeAngelo wasn't running deep pass routes along with the 7th most rushing attempts in the country [see other thread]

Just a concern.

What? Gainwell does NOT have the 7th most attempts in the country. He's not even top 20 in the country.

Yep trying to figure out where he got that number from...

The leader has ~80 more carries than Gainwell.

Maybe he is looking at touches where he 9th.

If PT doesn't play Saturday night, he's played his last down in a Memphis uniform (sadly).

RE: Redshirt Taylor?
If Hurts can carry the ball 103 times and make every pass for Oklahoma I don't think it fatigue is going to be an issue for Gainwell.

Crazy that Hurts is averaging 7.8 yards a carry when you factor sacks into his rushing average as well.

Side Note:
WTH is Louisiana doing they have the two highest per carry running backs in the country.

Did CMN state his status Monday?, I've been out of the loop this week.

Last I heard he was day to day.

RE: Redshirt Taylor?
CMN plays things close to the vest. But if they're done for the year, he normally says so.

The fact that he still says day to day, makes me think there's still a chance to see him this year - regardless of many saying he's done. And I don't think it's just coach head games. I mean, with Gainwell, the other DC already has his hands full. PT won't change up the defense.

I know PT is a competitor and will not sit out just to protect himself.
