LOL ... actually, in your first post, you asked:
"Does Liberty go to a bowl this year?"
Which was smart, because it was up in the air. As an independent without a primary tie, they had to hope that things broke right and the AAC didn't fill the Cure Bowl spot, which wasn't really assured until Memphis won the CCG, thereby clinching the NY6 bid and thus opening the Cure slot.

Has nothing to do with their supposed Christianity. No one hates Boston College, Presbyterian College, etc.

That may explain some but it doesn't explain people like me.
I don't dislike Harding, Abilene Christian, Ouachita Baptist, David Lipscomb, Notre Dame, Boston College, St. Louis, Pepperdine, etc.
But it's more fun to claim martyr.

Liberty had the friendliest people of the dozens of stadiums I’ve visited.
Online, people are always attacking Liberty, but you never see Liberty fans attacking others.

Obviously you were NOT on the Sun Belt board when the Sun Belt passed on admitting them nor when Sun Belt admitted Coastal.

Because those schools aren't extreme vocal conservatives like Liberty is. I'm highly conservative and a Christian. And I see why people hate Liberty even though I cheer for them.

I'm a Christian and a conservative but I can't support a university that won't grant tenure except in the law school because you can't get accredited, a case of situational principles, if that opposed to tenure, opt to not have a law school.
I can't support denying employment to anyone denying young earth, you literally have to sign a pledge saying you believe it and probability is extremely high much of the faculty is lying through their teeth to get paid. Young earth was a fringe doctrine of Lutherans at the start of the 20th century then swept into evangelicalism starting in the 1970's.

I may have to go back and look, but I don't remember Liberty Folks attacking anyone. We were all on the defense.
We are just happy that the NCAA allowed us a chance to show what we can do in FBS football. I do think LU is poised to see quick growth and success, but we shall see. The ind. route is great for now and the schedules get much better / tougher in the next few years. In '21 Army is @ Williams Stadium and then BYU and VT come the next year.
I do think we will eventually find a conference home after some time and success.
As for Coastal, can't wait to start playing them again in a few years, but hope they are better by then.

RE: Liberty will go to a bowl this year!
Very excited for such an awesome bowl win against a great team so early in the move up. not only that, but we get to join Georgia southern as only the second team to win a bowl in their first full FBS year after moving up from FCS.
Between this and the basketball team being 14-0, it's hard to deny the rapid rise of Liberty Athletics. I've heard it called the Golden age of Liberty Athletics, and I totally agree.
Go Flames. Thanks for the congrats.

Liberty now only needs to get to two more bowl elgible in the next five years to be elgible to have tie-ins like BYU and Army. Hope they can do it.

Bowl ties won't be as critical in the next few years except to get most desired locations or opponents.
In 2020 we go from 78 bowl slots to 84, so every 6 or better should be safe.
