Smart that he pushed for a new contract BEFORE he plays Penn State, Iowa, and Wisconsin to help close out the season. :)

Minnesota schedule has kind of been a joke, however, there is something to be said for consistently winning the games you're supposed to win. They have a realistic chance of hitting 10 wins this season. The last time they did that was 2003 and the time before that was 1905 (no, that's not a typo).

He's smart... Told his agent he wants more money... And the firing of Taggert, scared Minny into extending him.

RE: Fleck 7 year extension
Is it truly a 7 year extension? Or just 2 more years added on to the original 5 year contract?

7 years.

It's a contract to 2026. Read it on ESPN. That's why it made a lot of news.

And of course, PJ doing the smart thing by getting a re-sign BEFORE playing Penn State, Iowa, and Wisconsin. :)

To be fair, between 1906 and 1959 they didn't play 10 games a year, so a lot harder to get 10 wins than today. They did have a number of seasons with winning records >0.833 (which is 10-12), but all before WWII:

1909, 1910: 6-1
1911, 1915: 6-0-5
1916, 6-1
1927: 6-0-2
1934, 1935: 8-0
1936: 7-1
1940, 1941: 8-0

So in brief you could say they didn't have a regular season record as good as 10-2 in the second half of the 20th century (closest would be their 1961 Rose Bowl Winning year, when they were 8-2 regular season, 9-2 if you include the Rose Bowl win).

Well, that is 11 games isn't it?

Regardless, I wouldn't compare teams' performances as far as comparisons go, prior to, like, 1950-60.
